1969 corvette big block. I bought this car from my buddy who had it for 16 years and parked it for the last 8 in a climate controlled garage. I have replaced all hoses, belts, fluids, tires, calipers, brakes, trans service, battery, and the rusted radiator support. the car starts and runs without effort. We checked the numbers on the engine and the trans and they are correct for this car. I didn't check the rear end. I know the exhaust and the rear leaf spring aren't original. I think the rest is.
The car isn't perfect. the paint is old, it may be original. I am not sure. it is lacquer, and if it was re-sprayed it was done in the 70's (according to a body shop friend). the T-roofs are decent as is the paint for it's age, it shines well. The trans shifts well, the engine starts right up and can idle for hours withno trace of overheating.. all lights work, including the fiber optics. the wiper vacuum switch doesn't work, if you manually open the wiper door or pull the vacuum line, the wipers work find. Headlights open and shut as they should. All glass is fine.
The carpets are junk and need to be replaced, you can buy OEM carpets for under $400. The radio and dash doesn't have power, I don't know why, but I am still playing with it.
I can't drive the car, because my head sticks out of the T-tops and I can't drive it with the roof on. I am 6'3" tall and have very short legs. This car doesn't work for me. The car comes with manuals, bills, some parts... everything I have, and some covers.
Ask me questions... john 201.602.7717. Come and see it, it is in my garage in Flanders NJ. I will help with shipping.
If you watch last month's Barret Jackson auction you know the C2's have just dropped by $50K and the C3's are rising. This is simply because of the age of the people who want these cars. I am pricing this car to move. Someone has to finish it. Because of that, I am not asking a lot of money. This auction is starting at $23K and it is a no reserve auction. Ask me questions! and good luck
Just changed the fuse marked Gauge and the gauges all work with the exception of the clock and the oil pressure. From other old cars, the oil pressure line will have to blown clear due to sitting so long to make that gauge work. I don't know about the clock. Also the original radio is in the dash, but either doesn't work or is disconnected, the previous owner installed a radio in the back compartment, it indicates it is working, but no sound. I was told there is an external Amp under the dash, but I haven't looked for it. All fiber optics in the dash work.
I was asked about the bonding strips... I must confess I didn't know what that is... I attached two pictures from the front right fender, the front left fender is the same, but harder to photograph. I hope this helps.
I was asked to add a picture of the engine codes. Ihave. In case it is too small.... it is. 10402LN 19S722625
