2000 Corvette convertible. I an the 3rd owner. I purchased in 2011 and have put about 12K miles on it. This is the sweetest running auto I have ever had.....and I have had few to say the least....I am 73 years old. This car is in excellent condition inside and out. Always garaged kept by the previous owner and myself.
The only things that I have done to the car are as follows:
1. Disabled the 1st to 4th shift feature.....a 6 speed C5 has an annoying feature that forces you to shift from 1st to 4th gear when shifting at a certain low speed.....My research found that GM did this to boost the MPG number. I found it to be very annoying and installed an aftermarket device that disables this feature. ( it was very easy to install and would be very easy to uninstall....just disconnect 2 connectors.....no one would ever want to uninstall!!)
2. Replaced the nylon gears in the headlight pop-up motors with metal gears. Known issue on C5's.
3. Normal maintenance with Mobil 1 synthetic oil. Changed the transmission fluid and replaced withAMSOIL transmission fluid.
This is a highly factory optioned car. See the pic with the options.....might be hard to read.
Selective Real Time Dampin, Polished Aluminum Wheels, Compact 12 Disc Cd Changer, Active Handling System, HUD (Heads Up Display), Dual Zone AC....cold AC, Power Telescoping and Manual Tilt Steering Wheel, Power Passenger Seat, Memory for Driver's Seat, AM/FM W/CD Player.
It has an aftermarket exhaust system. I don't know the brand but it sounds nice.
Tires are Goodyear Eagle F1. P265/40/ZR17 on front. P295/35/ZR18 on rear. Tires still havelots of life left....I can't tell they have worn any since I bought it.....might be because I drive like an old man.
I have driven on several road trips..... this car will get 32+ MPG cruising at 70MPH in 6th gear.
To my knowledge this car does not need any anything ...just get in and go. I'm selling because I have too many vehicles.....I can't justify this one.....don't drive it enough..... wife is also putting some pressure on!`
