1972 Chevy El Camino SS Clone
I have owned this car since June 1999. It was painted with the new cowl hood in 2003, the SS stripes and ghost flames were also added. At that time all the cowl induction and SS emblems were added, along with the wheel well mouldings etc. It had a snap down tonneau cover which I will include, but needs a new one made for it, as the snaps are still on the car and the cover is toast. (About 300.00).
The engine is a 1986 350 and t350 transmission that has been rebuilt with shift kit and stall converter. The 86 engine replaced the original numbers matching 350 as it threw a rod. The heads would not fit on the 86, so it now has a nice set of ported heads. Also the factory A/C was removed, as its brackets were not compatible with the newer motor. The motor has Edelbrock RPM intake and a Holley carb(600) and does run very well. I have all the parts of the A/C to include if it becomes feasible to reinstall it. Also has all new brakes and a new LR axle. The brakes have been completely rebuilt (new drums on rear and disk brakes on the front, new master cylinder and power booster with documentation.(1300.00) I recommend new tires if driven any distance. Also the car needs new suspension bushings etc, along with alignment.
This car could use a new headliner, and various other interior upholstery(seat covers, carpet, dashpad etc. There is developing a little surface rust in spots around the doors and one spot on the drivers side roof.(I had it at a park for a local cruise, and some guy was playing with golf balls and bounced one off the car!
