2005 Chevrolet Suburban Description

We bought this new in 2005 and we have loved every mile put on it, but it is used! Read this well, I will tell you the positives and the negatives, I want to make sure any buyer has all their questions answered. If I miss something please feel free to ask.

Positives:

This is an 8 passenger set up, Captain’s chairs up front, split fold down middle seats that seat three and a fold down and removable back seat that seats three.

Yes it has 247,000 miles, but the top end of the motor was rebuilt by Paradise Chevrolet in Temecula about 75K miles ago. It received completely new heads as well as the accompanying houses and accessories that go with the top end of the motor being rebuilt. This was due to a head recall from Chevy and warped heads. It runs very good.

The transmission was also replaced at 150K miles transmission and motor run good, the car drives very well.

It has just about every option you could get for this year. It has sun roof, leather seats, navigation (it requires a CD which we do not have), Bose stereo system, it also has in the head rest video system that plays audio through the car stereo. I mention it because they are in the car, but they are finicky and sometimes play a DVD and sometimes don't.

It has two new tires up front and two mid life tires in back. The wheels are nice Z71 wheels.

tow package, running boards (smitty built), rear cargo cover, roof rack, and rear AC

Negatives:

The engine does run very well, but there is an oil leak at the rear main seal. We are very conscious of the leak and keep the fluids in the car up. It is a cheap part but labor intensive so we have not gotten it fixed. We were quoted anywhere from 700-900 to get it repaired. The other fluids in the car, including coolant do not leak and all work good.

All of our kids have learned to drive in this car. It has been in a few accidents. It has never been repaired from an accident. In one aspect that is good. It has never been in an accident that affected the driving of the car, they were all minor in nature. The bad side is, there are two spots on the car that have visible damage.

The right rear quarter of the car fell victim to a pole in a parking lot. The damage is pictured. It includes the lower rear portion of the back passenger door and rear quarter panel and trim around the wheel well.

The left front corner of the car (not as noticeable) hit a parked car backing out of a spot. This is the corner of the bumper, a small portion of the fender and a little bit to the hood. It is pictured also.

The remainder of the car has normal wear for a car with these miles on it.

The interior of the car is original. The carpet has general wear and could use a shampoo. The carpet under the driver’s side matt is worn through in a spot. The front seats, driver and passenger are work to the foam on the seating surface, this is pictured also. They could use new upholstery or seat covers. The remaining seats are torn or work through, just general wear. The right side head rest of the middle seat is torn. If the front passenger seat is not far enough forward this head rest hits when folding the seat down.

I hope I have been as clear as I can be about the car. I would jump in this car today and drive it across the country with confidence. If someone got this and fixed the oil leak, it would be easily maintained. The remainder of the repairs would depend on what you are looking for in the car.

You will need to pick this up or arrange shipping on your own. I do hold the pink slip and it has a clean title. If you would like to look at and drive the car please let me know we will make it happen.
