1967 Chevrolet Chevelle 2-door Sedan Description

1967 Chevrolet Chevelle 300 2-door Sedan

Awesome, completely rust free example with fully rebuilt big block engine & transmission! Options include 396ci high-performance V8, Muncie 4-speed transmission, power steering, dog dish hubcaps, BF Goodrich black wall tires, and SunPro tachometer! Just sweet!

The Chevelle was introduced in 1964 as Chevrolet’s mid-size model and offered in eight different body styles and with six different engines throughout its first generation. The car received its first restyling for 1966 and with it came a host of performance-biased equipment, engines and rear ends. Another front facelift, along with wraparound rear taillights and standard reverse were added in 1967. Today, it remains one of the most desired of Chevrolet muscle cars ever produced!

Offered here is a bit of a “sleeper” as the collector car street lingo would say. This rust free 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle 300 2-door Post sedan is finished in the beautiful code correct Nantucket Blue over Blue vinyl bench interior. The base 300 Model was the low option, entry level Chevelle, but by far the most desired for power hungry, fiscally responsible muscle car fans that wanted to head straight to the drag strip! These post sedans offered superior body rigidity, and with the absence of interior carpet, radio deleted, and no exterior body trim & moldings reduced the weight for added performance! Under the hood of this special example is a 1966 date-code EG code 396ci V8/375 horsepower V8 engine mated to a Muncie 4-speed manual transmission and 3.36:1 rear axle ratio. You will find power steering, correct dog dish hubcaps, SunPro tachometer, heater/defrost, and trunk mat as the only options awaiting the new lucky driver!

Coming from the previous owner of the past 12 years, it was expertly treated to a professional rebuild of the entire powertrain which included an engine overhaul by Law Automotive and Capital City Machine Shop in Springfield, IL. It included full disassembly of the engine, where it was cleaned and magnafluxed. A new GM forged/tufftrided crankshaft, reconditioned rods/new bolts, new forged Federal Mogul pistons/rings, new rod/main/& cam bearings, new oil pump/pick-up, new timing chain/sprockets, reconditioned oval port heads with new seats, new pushrods/lifters, new Comp Cams magnum rocker arms, new Comp Cams crankshaft (#11-208-3), balanced rotating assembly, all assembled with ARP fasteners, new aluminum intake manifold, Holley 770cfm Street Performer carburetor, new distributor, plugs/wires, GM hoses/clamps, all detailed for a very sharp factory presentation! Today, it has approximately 100 miles since completion.

The Muncie transmission was also fully reconditioned with new input shaft bearing & front seal, new clutch, clutch fork, pilot bearing, release bearing, and resurfaced flywheel! Further improvements under the care of this owner included new factory correct dual master brake cylinder, all wheel cylinders, brake shoes, u-joints, rear shocks, new heater core & cooling system, five new BF Goodrich Silvertown 4-ply black wall tires measuring 7.50×14”, new voltage regulator, new Restoration Battery Delco R59 maintenance free battery, and added power steering system for easier driving enjoyment around town!

The rock solid structure and rust-free originality of the body are very impressive proving the perfect candidate for a build like this! Combine that with a stellar repaint and the awesome all original factory interior, it really tells a great story! We just love this car for being different than all the fake Super Sports strutting around with looming questions from purists. This Chevelle just says “Here I am, take it or leave it!” Super fun to drive, awesome sound from the tailpipes, and just being an honest, super solid, show worthy car! Call with any additional questions.
