This is a 1979 Chevrolet Monza 2+2, equipped with a 305 cubic inch V8, automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, and factory air conditioning.
I acquired this car a couple of years ago as a project. It had a little rust around the rear wheel openings and like most of these cars, the bottom of both doors. All of the rust has been cut out and replaced with fresh metal. The entire outside of the car including the plastics was stripped of the original paint, sealed with epoxy primer, and repainted with a base coat/clear coat system from PPG.
The air conditioning system has been retrofitted with a modern evaporator, condenser, and expansion valve. The old GM A6 compressor was removed, mounting brackets modified, and a new Sanden style compressor installed along with all new hoses.
The car has been converted from 4 lug 13 inch wheels to 5 lug 15 inch. Rear axles were replaced with axles from an S10 pickup, new axle bearings and seals, new pinion seal. The front spindles were replaced with S10 spindles, new S10 ball joints, rotors, and pads. To complete the conversion I installed 4 new 15x7 American Racing Torq Thrust II PVD Chrome wheels along with new tires.
Odometer reads 30K miles, I strongly believe it’s 130K.
