HISTORY/BODYWORK
Of the many reasons to love the third generation of America's sports car, style is certainly high on the list. As one of the most aggressive designs to ever breach GM Tech Center doors, the C3 set the standard for the official Corvette shape. Then, in the late '60s and early '70s, a cat by the name of Joel Rosen decided to take that standard from a 10 to an 11.
In addition to offering multiple parts and packages with pretty much all the style and power your money could buy, "Mr. Motion", utilizing nearby Baldwin Chevrolet as a sales channel, created unique and sometimes outrageous components that let everyone know you'd officially arrived in style. This Corvette, ordered as a top-option L89 beast straight from the factory, has been outfitted with the Motion Performance Phase III GT appearance kit you see today. That said, one thing is certain: the car's incredible House Of Kolor Cobalt Blue paint certainly isn't '60s fodder!
That vivid candy pigment, accented with an appropriate pearl stripe, was applied in the fall of 2016. Naturally, it's founded on a body-off, nut-and-bolt restoration. And, quite honestly, this Corvette is one of those cars you just have to see first-hand to fully appreciate.
