1985 Chevrolet C-10 Description

Up for auction is a 1985 Chevrolet C-10 half ton pickup truck. It was obviously built a little tongue-in-cheek with a very 80's feel.

It is painted black and gray with a red stripe in an 80's hot rod motif and looks very nice. It is not a perfect show truck, but has a great shine and no major defects as you can see in the photos. The wheels are the now rare Centerline 500s with radial TA tires. This truck has a roll bar in the bed, a tow hitch and an added on spare tire carrier from an 80's blazer that holds a spare on the tailgate but it swings free to open the tailgate via a lever. The lights and turn signals are all new, trim, bumpers and other exterior items are new are in good shape. It sports a DUCK hood ornament, a throwback to the Kris Kristofferson movie Convoy, which gets alot of thumbs up when driving. The tailgate operates perfectly fine and does not flop around. The spare tire carrier is solid as well. The exhaust is a low rumbling growl, sounds like flowmasters and is a true dual system.

The engine is a 350 chevy that will boil the tires through the turbo 3spd transmission. I am pretty sure it is not the original engine due to the performance and the mileage on the odometer. It has a huge aluminum radiator with dual electric fans and handles the Texas summer without an issue. It comes with a battery charger that you can plug in during extended storage to make sure the high quality Optima battery never goes low. It is very easy to drive with power steering, power brakes, plenty of power and an A/C system that will freeze you out of the truck. I have driven this truck a couple of thousand miles without any issues and that includes highway driving at 80mph. The starter was grinding at first so so we put on a high torque starter and a performance flywheel just to be safe.

The interior has new carpet, door panels and seat upholstery in a mix of a tweed-type fabric and faux alligator The dash pad is black and in good condition. It has 3 point retractable seat belts added and a fold-up armrest. All of the gauges work, and this truck comes with the dual fuel tank option which doubles your fuel capacity and yes it still all works. It has a roll cage installed as well but they did add back a sunvisor for the driver. The courtesy light is there and works as do the dash lights though they are alittle dim from age. The A/C works great with all fan speeds and easily chills the cab of the truck even here in Texas. Also has new windshield and door seals. It also has a heavy duty train horn that is powered by an air compressor and pressure tank incase you dont like traffic. All told it has about $11,000 in new parts. We can provide records on the truck going back to about 2005.

GOOD:
- Starts great, easy to drive whether cruising around town or traveling.
- Great looking, functional classic.
- Hope in and drive it today.
- A/C blows cold
- extended range with dual fuel tanks
- comes with a mounted battery tender to plug in while it is in storage to insure you never have a low batt

BAD:
1) The paint on the gauge cluster and lower parts of dash is worn and flaking here and there.
2) I have been unable to get the cruise control to work.
3) The wipers operate fine but do not park themselves correctly, you have to turn them off in the right spot.

Other than the above, the truck drives great and gets alot of attention. Very fun car to take to the local meet or cruise around town. We have driven the car through town many times and never had any problems. Keep in mind it is 32 years old and not a new car, but it is in good condition considering its age. Very rust free body and chassis.
