2006 Silverado 1500 Regular Cab Short Bed
2006 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Base Description
2006 Regular Cab Short Bed Chevy Silverado. 4.3L V6, last year for a 5 speed manual, low miles. I bought this truck just over a year ago to teach my girls how to drive a standard shift vehicle. They didn't go for it. So it has to go. It is bone stock: rubber floor covering, crank windows, manual locks, base AM/FM radio. The blue button on the face of the radio (pictures) is a retrofitted bluetooth. Works nicely. There is the optional tilt wheel and cruise control. 3.23 rear axle ratio. A full tune-up (wires, cap, rotor, spark plugs, induction system cleaned) was performed 6.7.16 at 55585miles. Brakes flushed and bled. Oil & filter change on that date and yesterday. Radiator flushed and fresh filled with extended life dexcool. New serpentine belt. Installed 4 new KYB shock absorbers. Goodyear Wrangler match set with about 80 percent tread, if not more. I installed a rear sway bar (note pictures). Handles very nicely. Have a larger diameter replacement sway bar for the front but have not installed. I bought driving lights but have not yet installed them either. The headlights and taillight assemblies were unacceptably crazed so I replaced them all. The air blows 42 degree air on a 90 degree day. All HVAC functions are as they should. There is a new clutch. It was shuddering excessively and when I tore into it found the output shaft was leaking grease, soaking the clutch plate. All replaced and good to go now. The bad: there is a crunch (not of my doing) in the driver door that has a mildly attempted repair that is not immediately noticeable (picture). And there is a ping above the driver door handle. Drivers seat shows wear. I have found no evidence of any other damage. Best MPG was calculated at 17 MPG. I am the second owner. Overall the truck is very clean and very reliable with very low miles for an 11 year old vehicle; 5500 per year?! It will go anywhere in solid style. This vehicle is sold as-is where-is with no warranty expressed, implied, or otherwise. Clear title in hand. Funds will have to be cash in hand, bank check, or certified funds cleared and acceptable to seller before title and/or vehicle will be released to buyer. Email any questions you may have.
