Needle in a haystack anyone? I’ve got a great truck here and figured I’d post it up here for someone that will care for and deserve it. I was going to send this straight to the auction, but it’s way too nice to do that. Please bear with me here, I’m a little long winded in my descriptions, but I don’t want any surprises for anyone. I hate surprises, and I know anyone buying something online is worried about it. Don’t be here…I write up exactly what I see, good, bad, and ugly. You’re more than welcome to come see this thing before the auction ends. I take plenty of pictures so you’re comfortable and know EXACTLY what you’re going to own. If you have questions, email text or call. I do have videos of walk around, running and driving as well. I can text them across any time.
This truck deserves someone that is going to care for it and love it, because there are NONE left. This is a 1995 Chevrolet “Heavy Half” LT Suburban with the 6.5L Turbo Diesel engine in it. It’s got every option you could hang on one in 1995 and it’s very obvious that it’s past two owners loved it. This thing only has 65k miles on it, and it shows. This one has all 2500 suspension and running gear on it, but it’s sporting the 1500 badge. It rides like a Cadillac, drives straight, and starts right up. This will make someone a GREAT ride for years to come.
This thing runs and drives great. It’s got the good old 6.5L Detroit Diesel in it that fires right up, pulls hard, and doesn’t smoke unless its really cold. I had it in 10 degree weather, unplugged, and it started without an issue – a little smokey and loud, but it fired up (standard for these). I just got back from a 600 mile trip in it to KY and back. It ran great, got 17mpg at 80mph with the cruise set, and never missed a beat. I’d drive it anywhere in the country and not bat an eye. It doesn’t pull, shake, wander, shimmy, bang, pop, or make any odd noises, it’s all there. The brakes stop straight, the steering is tight, and the transmission shifts great through all of the gears, and the 4x4 works. The previous owner just put a HEATH PMD cooler and relocated the PMD to under the front bumper. Anyone who knows these diesel engines know that’s a weak point…but it’s been taken care of. The ENTIRE A/C system has already been gone through and replaced as well. New evaporators, new compressor, new clutch, new lines, new…new…new. The air will blow you out of the truck. The rear air doesn’t seem to get quite as cold as the front – but it’s 20 degrees here and hard for me to tell for sure. Heat works, power seats work, and every other button I pushed worked as well. It’s a very, very nice old suburban!
The exterior is in great shape with great factory paint. We just waxed it and it shined back up like a new one. The doors all seem to line up well, open and close fine, and if you didn’t know the body style had changed – it could pass for a year old. The doors are solid, the panels are straight, and everything seems to be in order. There’s one sorta-crease in the passenger door that you have to be standing in the right light to see. I took a picture of it – if I didn’t tell you, nobody would ever know…but I’d rather you know about it right up front. Also, with any 22 year old vehicle you’re going to have some small dings and scratches here and there – honestly there’s not ANYTHING that stands out to me, but don’t come expecting a 2015. We touched up the rock chips that we could find, but I’m sure there’s one somewhere that slipped my eyes. At the very bottom of the left rear barn door there is some pimple rust bubbles under the paint – nothing broke through, but there. It’s the only rust I can find on the truck, it’s VERY CLEAN and dry. See pics. At the very top of the doors and top of the windshield the clear coat is starting to get thin – again, look at the pics. I didn’t even notice it until it got under florescent lights, but I’d rather you know. For 22 years old, the truck looks fantastic, hell for 5 years old it looks great. You’re not going to find a straighter 95, period. The under side is clean too. There's standard surface rust on the frame underneath, but ZERO rot, ZERO frame flake, or anything of the sorts. If you need pics, I'll shoot some across to you, but it is VERY clean underneath. It is as dry as a 95 comes.
The interior is about as clean as they come for a 95 as well. The seats are in GREAT shape with no rips, tears, burns, or anything else. They are VERY clean. It is all factory too, no BS vinyl replacement panels. The headliner is in great shape as well with no stains. Carpets are clean, but still have a few spots here and there – nothing out of the ordinary. We had the carpet cleaned, but these light gray ones never come out new looking without dye – and I didn’t want to do that, I’d rather you see it just the way it is. The truck doesn’t stink at all, no smoke that I can smell or anything else goofy. A buddy of mine climbed in and said “it even smells new” lol. I’m not going to say it smells new, but it sure smells better than my personal truck! No disappointments inside this one at all.
All in all, it’s a GREAT, probably the best 95 Suburban diesel out there. It’s clean, it runs great, it drives great, and it looks the part as well. If you show up here and don’t like it for any reason, we kill the deal – no questions asked. I’m confident whoever winds up buying this will be very happy to take it home. It needs nothing but a new garage to sleep in. I have both sets of keys and remotes, spare tire, and owners manuals. My phone number is 317-260-9235 and my name is Tom, you can call me any time. I am a dealer and have been selling on eBay for years. I am no stranger to this. Please bid to own. Please ask your wife and get your finances ready before hitting the bid button. There is a $500 deposit due within 24 hours of auction close and the balance will be paid within 7 days or on delivery – whichever comes first. I don’t mind picking up from the Indy airport or helping with shipping to anywhere – but the buyer has to set it up. Please do not assume anything, ASK questions – it’s what I’m here for. Happy bidding!
