1956 Chevy 210 4 door wagon
1956 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 210 Description
Up for Bid is my 1956 Chevy 210 6 passenger Wagon with cargo area. I found this wagon in the oldest part of El Paso, Tx....better known as the second ward. From what the owner told me, he owned it from the early 70's and it was his daily driver. The wagon started off being a 6 cylinder and 3 speed on the column. In the mid 80's he upgraded to a '85-'86 Chevy Camaro V8 engine and automatic transmission. Soon after he parked it in his backyard, where it sat until we came across it in November 2016.
The wagon is complete. The wagon has been completely sanded, to look for any problem areas, then clear coated, using Nason products. The body does not show any areas where it had been repaired. The stainless steel mouldings are in really good shape. The left rear door moulding has a slight dent in it, but I did not want to remove and repair, I just buffed them. Replaced both right and left floorboards and kick panels. We performed a complete tune-up. The gas tank was removed and cleaned out. Ran the engine and removed and replaced the oil and filter. It does not smoke or miss. It has a new exhaust system. On the transmission we drained the oil and installed new oil filter and gasket and refilled. The transmission shifts smooth. We drained and refilled the rear differential also performed complete brake job...all new pads and brake cylinders, master cylinder and flushed all the lines. The speedometer works and the tires are new 215/75 r15 with 1 1/4" white walls. Stainless steel dog dish hubcaps. Completely reupholstered, seats, door panels, headliner, carpet, kick panels and rear cargo area was done with all new matting. Also installed sound deadening material and carpet matting. All windows roll up and down nicely. All new door weatherstripping and window seals bought from Eckler's. All interior window frames and dashboard were painted, to give it that super clean interior look. The wagon has been lowered approximately 3 1/2 - 4".
The bad is.. rust in the usual tri five chevy areas...that I chose not to repair before clear coating. Three of the 4 windows have cracks..chose not to replace, it gives the wagon character..Windshield and windows appear to all have original glass. This wagon has a clean Texas title.
It is a fun driver and gets a lot of attention.
If you have any questions, feel free ask. *** I also have an 9 passenger 1963 chevy bel air wagon that was an frame on restoration with fresh paint in tuxedo black...
