1955 Chevrolet 5700 LCF 2 ton COE Truck Description

1955 CHEVROLET 5700 2 TON LOW CAB FORWARD "LCF"
This 55 Chevy truck is a great example of Chevrolet's transition from a true Cab Over Engine truck to the new, radically redesigned Low Cab Forward or "LCF" of the new "Task Force" era.
It is a 2 ton model that was most recently used by a building contractor to carry concrete forms, tools and other building supplies.
It was then sold to a collector who subsequently passed away. The truck sat for the next several years and "donated" many of the engine parts to other family members projects.
In speaking with the contractor who previously owned the truck, it had a great running small block that had plenty of power. However, the carb and intake have been removed along with the valve covers. Undoubtedly, the engine will need a complete rebuild.
The body and sheetmetal on the truck are solid and complete. The truck does have some rust in the floorboards and inner fenders.
Fenders, hood, doors and cab are straight. No major body damage.
All tires hold air.
Steering components are in place and function properly.
The right rear tire does not want to turn. It seems to be a brake that is hung up.
Rear wheels have been singled out. I don't have the two outer wheels and tires.
There is no seat with the truck.
This is an excellent donor cab to mount on an updated, modern chassis for a custom build. Or, the truck could be restored and/or customized using the stock chassis. The possibilities are endless!
