HISTORY OF THE TRUCK
Adult owned 2002 Chevy Suburban 2500. I had purchased this truck back in May of 2013 from the second owner. The owner previous to me never used the vehicle to tow, as it was his wifes daily driver. The first owner of the truck used it to tow his rv.
I selected this truck for purchase for 5 main reasons.
1. I was looking for a vehicle that could tow over 10,000.00. While my trailer is only 6,900 pounds, I am not the type of person that is interested in pushing the limits of safety or performance with my vehicles.
2. I needed a vehicle that could transport a family of 5 (while offering the tow capacity). The price point of purchasing a Suburban was more cost efficient than that of an Excursion. My previous vehicle was a lifted Sportsmobile Extended 12 passenger van, and having used that vehicle, I also saw value in the Suburban being a "normal" size vehicle which would fit into parking decks, and could easily be parked in downtown environments if desired.
3. Barn doors. I specifically sought out barn doors as they allowed me to mount boats to the roof of the vehicle while still allowing access to the cargo compartment.
4. Practicality. As a homeowner I understood the need to be able to transport items to and from Home Depot. This truck has the room (INSIDE) to stack 4x8 sheets of plywood.
5. Lastly, at the time I was looking for a truck that was NOT a 4wd vehicle as I wanted to have a more simplistic maintenance schedule.
I am selling this truck for 2 reasons.
1. I am looking for a 4wd vehicle at this time.
2. I am purchasing a different trailer which will come close to the total GVWR of this trucks capacity (interestingly enough, it will not exceed it, but it will come closer than I prefer)
I have used the truck as my daily driver since I purchased it. I work from home, and as a result this truck rarely sits in traffic, and has received little use. In August of 2016 I purchased an airstream trailer and have used the truck as my tow vehicle. The airstream trailer has placed very little stress on the truck with its lightweight and aerodynamic shape. My trailer weighs less than 7,000 pounds. Up until August of 2016 this truck was garage kept its entire life.

This truck was specifically designed by General Motors (GM) to be their premier gas towing vehicle for families that needed to tow. The 8.1 Liter engine is still considered to be the best gas towing engine ever produced by GM.

This truck has been equipped with aftermarket tow mirrors which extend out when towing (Automatically, not manually), and then come back in when not towing, thus eliminating the grossly oversized mirrors found on so many tow vehicles.
SIMILAR VEHICLES
The only other vehicle that can commonly be found which has seating capacity for 7 (in rare instances 8) is the Ford Excursion. While a good vehicle, the Ford Excursion is a much larger vehicle and typically is priced at higher price points that the Suburbans. These large SUVs enjoyed a short era of success prior to the boom of larger more luxurious Crew Cab Pick Up Trucks which are more commonly found today.

MAINTENANCE RECORDS
I have done my best to be a good steward of this vehicle while it has been under my care. I have consistently had the oil changed by one of two local shops that I have used for 17 years. This vehicle takes regular oil, and should never use synthetic.
SALE PROCESS
I took the care to accurately describe my vehicle, and I trust the buyer will perform the same due diligence through the sale process. I have the title in hand, and pride myself on making any transaction smooth and easy for the buyer. KNOWN FLAWS
EXTERIOR1. There are two dings on the vehicle, one is located on the hood, and the other is located on the drivers side passenger door.
2. Both Fog light lenses are gone (they were both impacted by the truck as a drove through the debris field of an accident).
INTERIOR1. There is a stain on the rear center carpet that appears to be from a candy of some sort that melted.
2. On the radio, the station selector knob has come off, but the knob still functions correctly.
3. The ABS light comes on periodically, but it has not been a problem for me. My understanding is that the ABS no longer functions. With the brand new commercial grade heavy duty brakes, this truck has no problem stopping, and with the brake controller installed, there is no problem while towing.
