2005 Chevrolet Impala LS Description

Here's a nice and well maintained 2005 Chevy Impala LS Sedan that we have owned for the last 4 years. We purchased it from Andover, Kansas where it had never been in the salt of winter and was also well maintained, originally from the upper Northwest, Oregon. I bought it for my wife because it was rust free, clean and ran great which it still does, fine transportation and comfort. We are downsizing our car collection as we are now both retired, hence this sale. It has the potent and economical 3.8 liter V6 engine with automatic transmission. Mechanically EXCELLENT, can be driven anywhere in comfort and is ready to go. Does not use or burn any oil. The only thing not working is the horn which I'm told could be a relay [replaceable]. No check engine or service engine lights on, running clean and perfect. Air conditioning, cruise control, rear defogger, AM FM radio with CD player, power seat, power windows and locks, power side mirrors as well as power steering and brakes all work fine. Wipers and squirters good. No electrical problems at all [other than the horn not working], all lights including fog lights, brake lights, hazard flashers, interior lights and turn signals work as they should. Has at the time of this writing just over 120,200 original miles which anyone who has owned these Impalas knows it can go well over 200,000 as long as it has been maintained well, as this one has. Have always changed the oil, 5W 30 Pennzoil and filter, always AC Delco parts, have had the transmission filter and fluid changed, brakes and exhaust are fine [new rear rotors and brake pads at some point were done], new serpentine belt, AC Platinum 100,000 mile spark plugs, water pump, idler pulley, 180* thermostat with 75/25 Prestone anti-freeze flush and fill, tires always rotated properly and filled to specs, new front torque mounts, lower radiator hose and AC Delco air filter. The battery is about 1 year old. Even the factory 3.8 engine plastic cooling system tubes that get brittle and break causing overheating have been replaced with aluminum tubes. The most important thing I did upon getting the car 4 years ago was completely rubberized- undercoated all the brake and fuel lines underneath the car as Ohio winters are brutal on them, they are fine on this car. Interior is nice and comfortable, tires still have plenty of miles on them. The trunk is clean and the donut spare tire and jack with instructions are there and tire filled to specs. Just as we are still driving it some you can get in it and start driving it with confidence right off to bat. The body is very solid, no rust out just minor nicks, dings, scrapes and small touch-ups I did with the small bottle brush to prevent rust, the car is 12 years old. There is a spot on the passenger side front door that has an indentation, dent where we ran up along the corner of our garage one time. Left it alone because it does not have rust and is not too bad looking [see photos]. Also an odd thin crease on the front passenger side fender which almost looks original but is not, no paint removed. Some undercoating overspray on the rockers just outside the undercarriage where I hit it with the undercoating, would clean off with some WD-40 and a rag. The car needs nothing but a driver and the horn fixed. This Impala has passed the Ohio Emissions test with ease and all paperwork will be given to any potential Ohio resident so they can use the current certificate which was just acquired. Will have a few more miles on it than shown in listing as we are still using it for everyday transportation, although limited.
