1964 Chevrolet Corvette Description

While a lot of people seem to prefer show-quality perfection, wouldn't you rather have a Corvette you can drive? These cars were MEANT to be driven, equipped with the most durable powertrain ever conceived by man, and then wrapped in fiberglass bodies that make them 1-car parades everywhere they go. So why wouldn't you want this matching-numbers 1964 Chevrolet Corvette roadster in your garage the next time the sun shines? Get in, turn the key, and have an adventure!A few years ago, this car was given a fairly comprehensive restoration and the quality shows. The fiberglass body, which has never been hit or neglected, was treated to a brilliant Riverside Red paint job, making it just about the most potent eyeball magnet you can imagine. Fit and finish are excellent, with none of the usual issues you find on vintage fiberglass. Crisp details remain, more evidence of careful workmanship, and while it has been driven, it has also been meticulously cared for. There are no stress cracks around the headlight doors, the hood fits well, and aside from a small touch-up on the headlight itself, there's really nothing to complain about on this 'Vette. Heck, who wouldn't love giving this car a wash and wax on a Saturday afternoon? Chrome is excellent, and it wears a full set of proper Sting Ray emblems. You will undoubtedly find that it is impossible to not get noticed when you're behind the wheel of this car. The interior is typical Corvette stylish, with a pair of black bucket seats, a woodgrained steering wheel, and lots of charisma. The seats show some very minor signs of use, but that only means that this car is ready to enjoy, not just an object to be loaded into a trailer. Cars like this are just about the best hobby cars you can own, since you won't sweat the little stuff but you'll still be the center of attention anywhere except Bloomington Gold. The carpets are excellent, and they've likely been replaced, as have the door panels and dash pad which is simply too nice to be 50 years old. The gauges still look great, and options include an AM/FM radio and a PowerGlide. It has also been treated to a custom Vintage Air A/C setup that tucks under the dash and doesn't attract attention. A white convertible top is there just in case, but if you're doing it right, you'll never need it.The engine is the original, numbers-matching 327 which was the upgraded L75 300 horsepower version. Honestly, anything with two seats and 300 horsepower is guaranteed to be a party anyway, and with a four-barrel carburetor, it's about as reliable as an anvil out on the road. Forget finicky fuelies, if you're driving your hardware this is what you want for motive power. It's very nicely detailed with a correct air cleaner, Chevy Orange paint, and correct finishes throughout. The A/C system is neatly integrated so that it almost looks OEM and power steering is a nice option for driving. Thanks to the frame-off restoration everything underneath is fresh and rebuilt, so it's ready to hit the road immediately. Knock-off wheels always look right on any Mid-Year Corvette, with these wearing 205/70/15 whitewall radials that handle well and fit the '60s vibe.Believe me, any mid-year Corvette roadster is an A-list celebrity, and you'll have more fun with this awesome red roadster than the guy who just dropped six figures on a trailer queen.
