1961 CHEVROLET IMPALA2DR. HARDTOP BUBBLETOPUp for grabs is a very complete, very original 1961 Impala 2 door hardtop with factory installed A/C, power steering and power brakes. Running 283, 2 bbl., and Powerglide transmission. I bought this car in August of 1986 and used it as my everydaydriver for 2 years. Performed perfectly while licensed during '86-'89. Inside storage since and always stored with Avgas in the tank. Always planned on restoring this car but after almost 30 years I believe it's time to let her go. Rare factory A/C is GM installed and not a dealer add-on. Worked well 27 years ago and the compressor still engages today. Obviously will need at least a charge. Car starts, runs, and moves and sounds good when throttled but will die when kicked off choke.A good tune up I'm surewill help. Brakes need a good going through as pedal goes to floor. Probably an easy fix.May load on it's own but with no brakes, please bring a trailer and a winch. Remember, this car has not been on the road for 27 years. Super straight Bubbletop looksgood but needs and deserves a complete re-do, or go through the mechanicals and drive it as is. Super straightUn-hit body was patched and painted it's original colorin the early 80's, but otherwise is in super original complete condition. No running around looking for the correct this and that. Needs fender and floor repair. Front floorpans and 1 floor braceneed replaced but rears lookgood as does the frame. Left rear body mount is bad as seen in photo. Rear 1/4's need re-done but forward 1/4's and wheelwells lookgood. Lower valance panels solid. Doors are nice and solidwith only a veryslight, hardly worth mention,creasein lower passenger door.Doors open and shut nicely. Drivers door glass missing but frame still intact. A complete set of good side glass is included (4 pcs. not shown )2 scratches in windshield, other glass good.Trunk not bad, 2 small patches needed. Original trunk mats. Rear mount antenna. Possibly incorrect OSRV mirror that was on car when I bought it is included.Airshocks installed in rear by previous owner. Inside, It's completely original interiorneeds a complete interior kit but is very functional as is.Decent original steering wheel. Dome lights still work when doors are opened. Every repair and replacement panel, as well as the interior kit is available from a number of sources. Bumpers are straight with decent chrome. All trim is present and in good shape. Original wheels and hubcaps plus incorrect dog dish hubcaps included. Tires are rollers. Original jack in trunk. 119,800 Original miles. VERY Original under the hood with no missing bolts or brackets or monkey business. Clean title in my name since 1986. Small minor touch-ups over the years for paint chips and light surface rust. Nice patina now.Just a great car that needs a new home and a motivated new owner.
