THIS IS A GENUINE LOW MILEAGE HIGHLY OPTIONED L79 EL CAMINO CUSTOM. PS FACT FRONT DISCS, JUST OFF THE TOP OF MY HEAD. THIS CAR WAS BUILT 9/4/65 BEING ONE OF THE FIRST 66s ACCORDING TO THE SUFFIX CODE, FI0004EB. 2.O2 461 HUMP HEADS, 4SPD, M22, 10 BOLT POSI REAR. AGAIN, WAS NUMBERS MATCHING WHEN I GOT IT IN APRIL OF 2012. LONG STORY SHORT SHORTLY AFTER GETTING IT, I TOOK IT TO SOMEONE WHO I HAD BEEN FRIENDS WITH NEARLY 20 YEARS TO HAVE SOME WORK DONE. HE'S HAS AN EXTENSIVE COLLECTION OF RARE RIDES AND WAS THE ONLY ONE I TRUSTED TO WORK ON IT. I HAD TOWED TO HIS SHOP IN INDIO CA WHERE AFTER SITTING THERE FOR NEARLY 8 MOS. I FINALLY GOT THE CAR BACK, AFTER MONTHS OF BEING SOME PARTS WERE ON BACK ORDER AND STILL HADN'T PICKED UP THE ORIGINAL BLOCK AFTER BEING CHECKED OUT LIKE THE HEADS, JUST AT A DIFFERENT TIME. HE ALSO KEPT CHANGING THE LABOR FOR BASICALLY DOING NOTHING MORE THAN AN ENGINE REPLACEMENT, THE ONE IT HAS NOW, WHICH IS A 66 327 W HUMP HEADS. VI004HC.WHAT ARE THE ODDS? ANYWAY, STILL HAS ORIGINAL 5 BLADE FAN AND DEEP GROOVE PULLEYS FROM THE ORIGINAL. WHEN I HAD IT TOWED TO HIS SHOP, I HAD ONLY DRIVEN A FEW TIMES. BUT AFTER GETTING IT BACK I NOTICED A WEEK OR TWO LATER SOMETHING WAS OFF FROM BEFORE. SO I LOOKED AND NOTICED THE ORIGINAL M22 AND 3.73 OR LOWER, REAR END HAD BEEN SWAPPED WITH A 69 NON POSI 3.08 AND AN M20 ALONG WITH ALL THE ORIG. SMOG EQUIP DELCO 61 AMP GENERATOR ORIGINAL POWER STEERING PUMP, 6 QT L79 OIL PAN ORIG. RADIO AND EVEN THE FRONT WINDSHIELD WITH A HIGHER MILEAGE PITTED ONE. THE ORIGINAL REFLECTED AS DID EVERYTHING ELSE THE MILEAGE ON THE CAR JUST TURNING 23K. YOU CAN STILL SEE SOME OF THE BLACK FROM THE FACTORY BLACKED OUT GRILL. THE CAR WAS BUILT IN FREMONT WHERE I KNOW THAT AROUND 6 OF THESE L79 EL CAMS WERE BUILT AND ARE DOCUMENTED/REGISTERED. SO, TO SUM IT UP, IT'S A VERY STRAIGHT EARLY 66 L79 FREMONT BUILT BLACK PLATE LOW MILEAGE EL CAMINO. BEING THIS CAR HAS BEEN IN THE DESERT, IT HAS JUST A LITTLE RUST ON THE PASSENGER FRONT QUARTER, THE REST IS SURFACE. THE PIC ARE FROM WHEN I FIRST GOT IT, AND BASICALLY THE SAME OUTSIDE APPEARANCE. ALSO HAVE ORIGINAL BLOCK AND HEADS. ALTHOUGH CRACKED, THEY ARE FIXABLE AFTER SENDING PICS TO BILL LOWE, FORMER NASCAR ENGINE BUILDER. CAR NEEDS A FEW THINGS TO BE HIGHWAY SAFE. CURRENT ENGINE IS STRONG,RUNS GOOD, AND DOESN'T SMOKE. HAS ORIG M/T VALVE COVERS, ONLY BREATHER CAP WAS ADDED, REMOVING THE ORIGINAL RED INSERTS.( NON VENTED). CAR HAS APPROX. 200 MILES ON REBUILT M20, LINKAGE NEEDS ADJUSTING THOUGH. UNDER CARRIAGE IS REALLY CLEAN AS IS ALL THE TRIM CONSIDERING ITS AGE AND AGAIN REFLECTS MILEAGE. I DON'T NEED TO SELL, SO PLEASE NO LOW BALL OFFERS. NOT LISTING JUST TO MOVE ON. OBVIOUSLY, IF YOU HAVE THE M22 3.73 LIMITED SLIP POSI, AND BAGS ETC. YOU HAVE THE POTENTIAL OF HAVING A $70-80K FACTORY L79 AFTER BEING RESTORED. L79 NOVAS AND CHEVELLES ETC. GO ANYWHERE FROM $90-120K LOW MILEAGE RESTORED. ANY QUESTIONS CALL 760-285-6308 AND TITLE IS CLEAR.
TERMS: AN IMMEDIATE NON REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT OF $1500.00 IS REQUIRED AND BALANCE DUE WITHIN 24 HOURS OF AUCTIONS CLOSE BY CASHIERS CHECKS ONLY. THANKS FOR LOOKING!
