2011 Chevrolet Cruze LS Description

Selling for financial reasons, NOTHING to do with the performance or reliability of the car. I've had great service from this car. Honestly.
It isn't perfect outside but it's sound. Inside, it's in good shape, upholstery intact, some scratches on interior plastic. Tilt-wheel steering, MANUAL stick-shift SIX (6) speed transmission. For those who want better control over engine speeds and in hilly terrain, this is the only way to go.
Original documentation, two chip keys with remote lock/unlock/alert buttons.
Five-star safety rating, MPG at top ond of the EPA sticker rating for the car. I've NEVER gotten less than 29 mpg. The services it's had have all been routine.
Vehicle first major tune-up is recommended at 105K miles—which is almost 50K away.
Purchased new July 2011, I am the original owner.
Mechanical condition excellent, well maintained. Low mileage, 56K
Third-party cruise control professionally installed August 2011, works fine, integrated into heads-up display.
Included after-market & current maintenance status:
  • Spikes-Spider quick-mount/release traction devices, purchased Les Schwab
    "What is "Spikes-Spider"?
Spikes-Spider is a full performance snow chain [traction device] that is designed for vehicles with snow chain clearance problems. Spikes-Spider can be installed on the drive wheels in less than 30 seconds. No more dirty hands or soiled clothes."
  • New premium 80K radial rain & mud tires 2014 in EXCELLENT condition.
  • AC recharged summer 2014.
  • Air filter replaced ~45K miles.
  • Brake condition good all around: 7mm front, 6mm rear as of Apr 21, 2017.
  • New high-end windshield wipers Sept 2016.
  • Replacement windshield early 2017 (chip repair eventually starred).
  • Extended warranty (mechanical breakdown) through Aug 22, 2018 or 100,000 miles,
TRANSFERABLE TO NEW OWNER. Zero deductible. Mercury.
  • Visor-mounted Bluetooth hands-free speaker phone uses mini-USB recharging connector.
(Same as Kingle e-readers, many Samsung phones, etc.)
Lengthy road trips average 35-36 mpg, especially when using cruise control.
Short-hop errands average 29-31 mpg.
Current mpg for this tank (all local short travel) 30.2 mpg per built-in electronics
Cosmetic scrape passenger side rear door/quarter panel, touch-up paint used to prevent rust. (See photo)
In 2012, a similar scrape was replaced under insurance.
Rear bumper replaced for cosmetic damage (parking lots!).
Non-smoking owner, car has NEVER been smoked in.
Regularly serviced @ Sunset Chevrolet Junction City, OR until Feb 2013.
March 2013 - present, serviced @ Gilchrist Chevrolet Tacoma, WA.
Service records included although I can't promise you every single receipt.
Car has factory installed OnStar and AM/FM/XM (Sirus satellite radio).
Advantage to the OnStar built-in telephone function is it's a satellite phone, not dependent on carrier coverage.
When I was learning an entirely new metro region, the OnStar navigation saved me: It alerted me well to upcoming turns or exits and a gentle alert-ding made certain that I knew when I was supposed to be making my turn. (A friend visiting relied on his Garmin GPS and it told him to "turn right here" while he was still on the wrong side of the I-5 exit with a multiple-choice off ramp, and it cost him an hour to find his way back.)
The Cruze has a trunk worthy of the name. The amount of luggage AND camping gear that's fitted entirely into the trunk astonished me. 60/40 fold-down rear seats, back-seat fold-down cupholders if you're not carrying 5 humans, roomy map pockets on BOTH front doors, a narrow map pocket on the passenger/navigator side of the drive-train hump, reading lights for driver or navigator in addition to interior dome lights, both front seats have net map pockets for rear seat passenger convenience...
I've gotten truly spoilt with the thought-through details of how the power functions work: default setting uses a photocell on the dash to set either daytime running lights or headlights. (You can change it to manual, but frankly I've loved it.)
As a woman living on my own, I've found the automatic safety lighting perfectly suited to my needs.
  • When I turn off the car and shot doors, the headlights and interior lights remain ON for about 15-20 seconds, lighting my way to the door and keyhold at night if a porch light is out.
  • When I press the unlock key as I approach in a parking lot, the internal lights make it clear whether an unwanted intruder might be lurking in the car.
  • The power locks automatically lock when I start the engine; they turn off again when I turn the engine off and remove the key. But if I still WANT the car locked, a LARGE lock/unlock button lets me lock or unlock doors and override the automatic setting—handy when I pick up someone at a local transit station and the engine is still running.
