1995 Chevrolet Corvette Base Coupe 2-Door Description

Cars like this 1995 Chevrolet Corvette coupe represent perhaps the biggest bang for your performance buck in the world. Offering 300 horsepower, world-class suspension and brakes, plus an interior with every possible luxury and convenience feature, you just can't beat a C4 in terms of fun per dollar. With the new C7s being so incredible, it's easy to forget that 20 years ago, this was one of the fastest cars you could buy. Today this Corvette can stand proudly on its own merits, because it's still very fast yet supremely comfortable. The Admiral Blue paint is original and is in spectacular shape given the age and mileage, and we have to admit that we like the way it looks a great deal. You want to stand out? This is how you do it. Fit and finish on the C4s improved steadily over the years, and the later examples like this show excellent shut lines, a clamshell hood that lines up right, and doors that close with a distinctive thud that even sounds expensive. The smoother nose and convex rear bumper make it arguably the best-looking of the C4s, especially with the tinted glass that adds a menacing attitude. For being more than 20 years old, this car still looks and acts like an icon. The gray and black interior is a great look that is exactly the right choice with the Admiral Blue paint. It lends a suitable high-tech look to the 'Vette's high-tech driver's compartment. Those seats are every bit as comfortable as they look, with a myriad of adjustments to suit drivers of all shapes and sizes, one of the Corvette's strong suits. The leather was probably replaced a few years ago but uses correct patterns and even a Corvette logo on the headrest, so it's quite authentic-looking. Gray carpets also remain in very good condition, and the door panels with their black inserts that blend into the dash don't even show a depression where the driver might rest his elbow. The combination of digital and analog gauges were an effort to combine the highest visibility for quick information assimilation, and it definitely works and adds a purposeful performance look that was all the rage in the mid-90s. Of course, everything was standard, from climate control to a high-end stereo system, with one of the few options being the smoked glass removable roof. There's even reasonable storage under the rear hatch for a long weekend road trip.Chevy's LT1 needs no introduction, and in the Corvette, it provided effortless power and surprising efficiency. Its many tricks are well-documented, ranging from the reverse-flow cooling system to the water pump that was driven by the camshaft instead of a belt, and even today it remains a benchmark against which many others are measured. Also rather remarkably, this one has not been modified despite it being one of the most mod-friendly engines ever built. From the intake to the exhaust system, this one is 100% stock, which also speaks volumes about how nicely preserved it is. The 700R4 4-speed transmission is one of GM's best automatics and it spins a set of 3.08 gears out back that give it exceptionally long legs on the highway. The suspension and brakes need no upgrades to be truly remarkable in their abilities, and this 1995 Corvette wears recent 17-inch Kumho radials on the original factory alloys. If you've always wanted a Corvette, this nicely preserved 1995 C4 fits the bill and delivers big performance without a big investment.
