1938 Chevy Streetrod 5-Window Coupe
1938 Chevrolet 5-Window Business Coupe 2 Door Coupe Description
Hi! Thanks for looking! I finished building this 1938 Chevy 15 years ago. The first few years of its life, she was a Trailer Queen. Now I drive it everywhere I go. The car shows very well and is a lot of fun to drive!
But for me, it's time to let it go or start all over. I have started collecting parts to take the car to the next level. I purchased a new one-piece windshield, new headers, chrome alternator and matching Headwinds headlights and taillights. All the extra parts could be sold with the car if we come to a deal.
As for the car, it's a 1938 Chevy, 5-Window business coupe on an Art Morrison frame with Air Ride technology, four-wheel disc brakes, 9 inch Ford rear end, 350 tune port fuel injection and 700 R4 transmission with 17 inch Weld wheels in the front and 18 x 10's in the back. New engine AC Delco crate with all new parts when installed, rebuilt 700 R4 transmission, all new injectors, new computer wiring harness and computer. Approximately 10,000 miles have been put on the car in the last 15 years.
The custom interior was done completely in leather from head to toe. From the headliner to the floor and door panels, seats, and etc., all is covered in leather. The interior is still in very good condition. There is some wear to the seats and new floor mats will need to be made sometime soon. After taking the car out of storage this year, the display on the Alpine dash stereo is not working. There are two CD players, one DVD player, amplifier and two 10-inch subs.
The car shows very well at car shows and has taken People's Choice awards and awards from Good Guys. As for the paint, there are a couple rock chips on the front and a couple scratches on the side but nothing too bad. I do have a new pint of Chromalusion paint that will go with the car for any touchups. I have, in the past, had to re-spray one fender and one door due to scratches that occurred at a car show.
One of the things that did not get done when I was building the car 15 years ago was the wipers. I installed the wiper arms and the wiper motor but did not connect the two together. I do have everything to finish hooking up the wipers. The other thing that did not get hooked up was the Vintageair conditioning. The air box and controls are all installed but not hooked up. I do have everything to make operational.
Once again, I cannot express how well this car shows and how much fun it is to drive! It handles like it's on rails and it has plenty of power. The car is being sold AS IS and WHERE IS with no warranty. An immediate deposit of $500.00 is due by the winning bidder and the remaining amount is due within 10 days after sale. The new buyer will be responsible for shipping and I can assist in loading the car. If you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail me at troystrange1938@gmail.com.
