This is a very cool old gasser that has been updated to current and safer chassis standards. This is afresh build with less than 500 miles on it. It was actually built for the street. All lights work.Never raced, although I would think it would do very well. Itdrives and stops very good. It has no trouble spinning over those gigantic rear slicks. Runs around 3,000 RPM ataround 65+ MPH.
Started with Californiarust free car.Nicely done chopped top and all interior window trim around windows have been modified to fit new sizeopenings. Flames are painted on. "FIREBALL" is vinyl graphics.Super nice HD fiberglass tilt front end. I can tilt it open and closed with one hand faster than opening a regular hood. Rear fenders are glass also. Paint is very good, but not a super slick show job. More of a vintage gasser look.
Frame and suspension: Rear frame section was cut out and replaced with a Chris Alston coli over ladder bar back half. 9" Ford rear with HD "N" case 4:57 posi unit. Frontaxle replaced with more modern Speedway setup with disc brakes. Disc brakes up front - Drum in the rear, and it has an emergency brake that works, and Line Lock. All of the welds were professionally done. Super clean and professional looking.
Tires and wheels: Up front there are 15x5 real Vintage ET mags with new 670-15 Coker American Classic Radials that look like the old Pie Crust front runners. In the rear are real Vintage ET 15x10 mags with new Radir 1200-15 Pie Crust Slicks. Wide white walls were turned to the inside. I have close to $3,000.00 in wheels and tires alone. NOTE: If you do not wantthose tires andwheels pictured on the car, I will take $2,000.00 off of thefinal sale price to keep them and will replace them with the Weld wheels pictured at the end of thelisting at no charge. They are 33x13.50-15 MT Sportsmans on 15x14 Weld wheels, and 195x65-15 Raptors on 15x4 Weld wheels. I have all caps and lugs. Front tires are newand rears are very good, but used.
Interior: All of the hard work is done. Just needs carpeting, doorpanels, and head liner. The floor pan tunnelfabrication, and window trim modifications were professionally done. All Auto Meter gauges work. Horn works. Speedometer works. Blinkers work. Front blinkers are inside the head light housings. Wipers do not work. Unlike many gassers, this car canaccommodate a very large person. I am 6' tall and 235 lbs. I can actually push the seat back where I cannot work the pedals, yet it will still forward enough for a shorter person to drive itcomfortably. Avery rare option in a gasser.
Driveline: Rebuilt 4 bolt main 454. Casting # 14015445. Large oval port heads. Healthy cam. Brand new Holley 870 CFMcarburetor. Edelbrock aluminum intake.Melodon 7 quart oil pan. Probably in the 450 + HP range. Runs great on pump gas. Trans is a rebuilt 400 Turbo. B&M Shifter. Stock converter. Rear is a 9" Ford heavy duty "N" case with a 4:57 POSI. New battery. Custom madeceramic coated headers with side pipes and inserts to cut down on the exhaust noise. Sounds absolutely GREAT as is, but theinserts can be easily removed for the track.
