Up forauction is a straight axle1961 Corvette Convertible (hard top NOT included). It was the last year of the painted coves, last year of the 283 in a vette, first year of the 2 tail lights. This car has the 283 eng w/2x4's. This engine wasrated 270 hp from factory.Car has correct high RPM tach. This is not a numbers matching car BUT does have a lot ofperiod correct items on it. These include the engine, 2x4'sintake manifold (WCFB carbs are notdate correct),exhaust manifolds, starter, wiper motor, 4 spd T-10 transmission, overflow tank, dual point distributor, coil, andvalve covers. During a drive to car show the engine sucked a valve and damaged the head and #1 cylinder. Had to sleeve that cylinderand rebuild the engine. Damaged the one head and unable to match date correct soI replaced both heads with newer chevy heads reworked to .194s and went with hydraulic lifters and moderate cam instead of solids as rated from factory. Saved period correct head and will include with purchase as well as the damaged head. I have replaced king pins, wheel cylinders, master cylinder, water pump, fuel pump, correct pulley on generator, speedo and tach cables, complete exhaust, rebound straps and leaf spring liners, the rear end housing is for apositrac but I recd car with 3:31 ratio non-posi pumpkinin it and replaced it with 3:70 as rated from factory BUT not positrac. 3:31 pumpkin will go with car. Car needs tires all around, needs both sun visors, passenger seat has small hole, wipers work but will not shut off with inside switch. You have to manually adjust slide switch to off position on the wipermotor due to fire under hood prior to my purchase that melted the plastic switch (I don't drive in the rain so not a high priority), side windows good but windshield has scratch on passengerside when I purchased car, tach and speedo work but not accurate, chrome and stainless is good with very minor pitting and very very few dents in chrome molding, top has small hole on right side as shown in pic, car painted approx. 10 years ago and looks great. I tried to call the car as best I could. Pleaseemail if you have questions.
