Chevrolet Trailblazer SS with 3SS package, low miles
2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer SS Description
Update 5/6/17: let me clarify something since I received a question about this: I don't drive aggressively, the 80mph photo was taken while cruising on a toll road with 75mph speed limit.
For sale by owner is a rare low mileage unmolested example of Trailblazer SS with 3SS package (navigation, Bose, sunroof, leather/suede dual power heated seats, rear AC controls, steering wheel controls, adjustable pedals). RWD, only 52K miles. Almost bone stock (which is very rare for these vehicles). The only aftermarket parts are Cold Air Inductions (CAI) intake system, PCM of NC transmission oil cooler, and iSimple iPod/iPhone and Aux input interface. I do not have the stock intake. Also, when I bought it it had a straight pipe in place of the factory muffler. I welded the muffler back in because it was too loud for my taste. The muffler is not OEM (it is a high quality stainless steel Jones Exhaust Systems MF2289 muffler) but exhaust sounds stock now.
No mechanical issues that I'm aware of, everything works as it should, recently serviced at a GM dealership: new AC Delco battery, alignment, throttle body service, Mobil 1 oil change (7 quarts), brake fluid change, coolant flush and rear diff service. Transmission service was performed by the previous owner about a year ago (reflected in the Carfax). No accidents and no damage of any kind, paint is original and in excellent shape except for a couple of small dings/scratches and a very small area (about 1 inch by 2 inches) on the drivers' side rear door that appears to have been touched up. Seats are like new (previous owner had custom seat covers on them), interior is very clean, nonsmoker, no funny smells or odors. This is originally a NY vehicle, there's very little surface rust present on the undercarriage - see photos. Tires are in very good shape, have about 10k miles on them.
Adult owned and cared for. The original owner was apparently a car collector because he only put 3,000 (three thousand) miles on it between 2008 and 2013. Most of the miles were put on by a second owner who owned it between 2013 and 2016 and traded it in to a GM dealership because he needed a truck. That's where I bought it several months ago (end of January, to be precise) and had it shipped to Texas.
So, why am I selling it you would ask? I initially purchased it because I couldn't afford a CTS-V wagon with a manual tranny and thought this vehicle would be a good "cheap" alternative to it (which it actually is). Since then I reconsidered my decision (well, let's be honest here, my wife played a part in it, too - she wants me to get a brand new vehicle). So, I chose to go in a different direction and put a deposit on a brand new Chevrolet SS with a manual tranny. April is the final month of production for these vehicles, and the final batch will arrive here to U.S. around July. I don't really need an SUV, so I decided to go test drive a Chevy SS and liked it a lot.
Again, there's absolutely nothing wrong with this TBSS, it's in great shape for its age. And I'm not a "car flipper" - I'm actually a Dallas CPA who also happens to be a car enthusiast. I take great care of my cars. I never raced, tracked, launched hard or otherwise abused this truck. I'm not into that kind of stuff.
Let me know if you have any questions or need more photos. The Chevy dealership offered me 15K to trade it in, so this is the amount I'm starting the auction at. These trucks in unmolested condition are rare and have recently started to go up in value and retail for 22-25K (if you can find one in similar shape). The buy it now price is set at 20.5k which is equal to KBB private party value. The reserve is significantly lower though. With only about 25,000 made and about 90% of them modified, drag raced and going through second engine and third transmission... there is a good chance they will be collectible. Not at an astronomical price, but still a collectible.
In the past 6 months the truck has been serviced by two GM dealers and everything checked out fine. There are no fluid leaks, weird noises, knocks, or vibrations that I'm aware of. Transmission shifts smoothly. However, please note that it is a used vehicle and is sold without any warranties expressed or implied. Third party inspections are welcome, however, I'm a busy person so please contact me in advance so I can adjust my schedule accordingly.
If you live in Dallas and want to stop by to take a look or have it inspected - let me know and we can have it arranged. I live and work in Las Colinas. Between the hours of 8am and 7pm the truck is parked in the parking garage at my work (114 and O'Connor). Feel free to stop by around lunchtime and I'll show it to you. In the evenings I can show it at my house (635 and Riverside). Absolutely no test drives without proof of funds, no exceptions.
Title is clean and clear (not salvage, rebuilt, branded, etc.). I recently paid the vehicle off but still waiting for the title to arrive from Capital One Auto Finance. Should arrive within the next two weeks though. If not, will do bill of sale and mail the title later when it arrives. Or if you feel nervous about this we can wait for it to arrive and finalize the transaction then. $1,000 deposit via PayPal is due within 24 hours after auction close. The balance is due in person in cash or cashiers check within 10 days. No personal checks. Transaction will be done at my local Capital One or Chase branch. May also be willing to do the bank wire and have it shipped but will need to wait for 5 business days after the wire clears before I can release the vehicle to your shipping company. Sorry, but there are just too many scammers out there. The vehicle will also be listed for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the action at any time. Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. Thanks.
