1960 Chevrolet Corvette Description

Just in time for Summer! What car enthusiast wouldn't want to drive a shiny, red Corvette on a Summer night?

Red with white coves ... black interior.Carpet (black) may be original to the car.The seats are not cracked ... probably were replaced at some point.

Rare power windows.

Optional "Wonderbar radio".

78,000 miles showing on the odometer.

Has both tops.Red factory hardtop and white soft top.The hard top has not been on the car in years so there is none of the typical paint chafing from the top seals.

Correct factory hubcaps with proper sized (wide whites) white wall tires.

Excellent red/white paint.Minimal evidence of cracking/checking of paint on usual stress points of these cars.

Correct (polished aluminum) distributor shielding ... not currently on car (removed for polishing). Also correct CORVETTE 4-barrel "finned" air cleaner.

Factory "Fuel Injection" script on front fenders (in the correct location), indicating this car may have been born a "fuelie".

4-speed transmission (has been rebuilt) and the clutch was replaced at the same time.

Engine (3782870) is a '62-'65 327 4-barrel carb. The deck code (F1107S) indicates this motor was built in Flint, Michigan and originally placed in a full size Chevrolet with a PowerGlide transmission. This motor runs very well! With the factory air cleaner & distributor shielding in place, the engine compartment looks like a correct 283 4-barrel, 230 HP original.Seals and gaskets have been replaced making this a drip free engine.

Owned by the same family for over 23 years (almost half of the cars life with 1-owner).All maintenance and repairs performed by a local garage that specializes in antique vehicle repair. This car was a keeper.

Non-original items to the car:

- Hurst Shifter

- Alternator instead of generator

- Aluminum radiator.

I ended thepreviousauction for this car as the Reserve Price was omitted. My mistake and apologies to another that had bid on that auction.

On May-08-17 at 16:19:04 PDT, seller added the following information:

The rear differential is a posi-track unit. The gear ratio is probably a 3.31/1 (determined by counting driveshaft revolutions).
