2001 Corvette Z06 - Low Reserve - Black on Black
2001 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Description
This Z06 is in excellent condition with only minor wear and tear for the age. It is a great summer car with a lot of pull and is ready to go. 2001 was the first year of the C5 Z06 and comes with a 385 HP LS6 and 6 speed manual transmission.
It runs and drives great. The engine is strong, the transmission shifts smoothly, and the clutch grabs well. The suspension is still firm and handles great. I drove it from Ohio to Texas over the 4th of July weekend last year and it ran perfectly the entire trip, even getting 27+ MPG. I am the third owner. The second owner purchased it from the estate sale of the original owner in December 2015 so the majority of the time and mileage were spent with the original owner and it shows. The Carfax report shows that much of the service and maintenance was done at the dealer.
I would rate the interior and exterior an 8/10 overall. The paint is in very good condition and really shines in the sun but there are some minor swirls, scratches, and water marks that an enthusiast would notice but could fix.
I have already taken care of the small but important things that bring this car up from good to great and make it feel years younger than it is and a pleasure to drive. I replaced the driver's side seat foam so it is firm and comfortable and cleaned and conditioned all of the interior leather. I replaced the parking brake mechanism, which is notorious for causing problems, and replaced the shift knob. I also replaced the front air dam that was in bad shape but it does have a few new scrapes, described below.
Since most potential buyers will not be able to inspect the car in person before bidding, I would like to disclose all of the small issues I have found with the car. I recommend inspecting the car in person before bidding. If desired, I can take the car in for an independent inspection at the buyer's expense. I can also be reached by phone at 737-600-3631 for any questions or to set up a showing. I work 8-5 Monday to Friday so I will have limited availability during weekdays but I will return voicemails and texts as soon as possible during lunch and after work. I have more pictures and a couple videos available on request.
The Carfax report is clean with no accidents reported. Mileage will go up slowly but I only take it out about once per month. The tires are Nitto NT555 275/40ZR17 in front and Nitto NT01 315/30ZR18 in the rear. I do have the front license plate cover if you do not need to mount a front license plate.I have a clean and clear Texas title in my name so it is ready for a quick and easy sale.
The underside of the front bumper has some scrapes as shown in the pictures due to the low ground clearance and is very typical. There are a couple similar scrapes underneath the passenger side door and again on the bottom of the rear quarter panel from running over part of a shredded tire on my road trip home. These scrapes are on the underside of the car and you can only see them from below. The interior is in very good condition but there is one small tear in the driver's side seat and a small tear in the window tint film on the driver's side window. One of the headlight gears has started to wear and there is a grinding noise only when closing the headlights. There is no noise when opening and they still open and close just fine. The brakes squeal sometimes when coming to a stop.
Shipping will be at the buyer's expense but I would be happy to work with a shipper that the buyer chooses to get the car picked up.
