Update I was contacted Monday morning from a buyer who stated he had a buyer for his car and would be completing the sale Thursday. Told to him i needed a deposit to hold the car which he made. Contacted late Thursday that the buyer of his car could not get the funds to complete the sale. So it is now listed at a lower price that is minus the deposit he made and to help out on shipping costs cause i got many message that shipping was very high to them
Prior to listing the car on eBay the corvette was viewed by 4 people locally, one time wasting low baller wanna be Richard rawalings, second was someone who owns an identical 396 but in a convertible was intrigued about owning a coupe. The other 2 had made offers that were accepted for $60,000 and $59,000. But as stated here your wife needs to know first when they found out they said no. Please save the emails with offers for the less they will be declined.
I have added photos of the trim tag and vin tag both are clearly the factory originals.
1965 Chevy corvette 396/425HP Coupe NOM Factory correct white exterior with black vinyl. One of 2157 big block 1965 396 corvette. First year for a big block in a corvette and only year with a 396 engine. Very Very nice un-restored well kept 65 396 big block coupe. Original engine was blown up back in early 70's according to previous owner. Current engine Block is period correct 1965 Corvette L78 casting number 3855962 that would be found only in 65 396 corvettes and is dated about 2 weeks after production of the corvette. Heads are also correct 65 rectangular port heads that were used for the 396 engine. Also has the correct 396 intake. This engine once you gather all the parts bring it to an engine builder will end up costing you $12,000 to $15,000 in parts and labor. If you have looked at other 1965 396 corvettes that are an NOM they do not have a period correct L78 engine in them for a simple reason cost to build one, instead they install a 402 or a 454 that can run you $3500.
4SPD trans is original to the car with the vin number stamped on it. Original factory power brakes, very rare. Interior is in excellent shape with all gauges and courtesy lights working. Original radio will work sporadically currently it is not working. Headlights work, wiper works, blinkers all work. Body has excellent lines all bonding strips in place and appears to be a no hit body. Frame is very very solid photos will clearly show this. Paint is driver quality that was repainted over 20yrs ago but still presents very well. Glass is also in excellent condition. Overall this is very nice solid 1965 396 coupe you can go out have fun with. No Trades and Please make sure your money manager/account AKA Wife is on board with the purchase. Winner bidder is required to make a $500 non-refundable deposit with in 24hrs. Sold as is. Additional photos listed below
