1949 Chevrolet Other Pickups Deluxe Description

1949 Chevy 3100“Tux”We call thistruck "Tux"because if its appearance and although it has been frame off and built from the ground up it was built to be a driver (more of a restomod) then a show truck. It features a stock frame in the rear with a Camaro subframe, power steering and disc brakes in the front. The subframe job wasdone very nice and aligned perfect. It is powered by a 350 small block Chevrolet and rebuilt 350 turbo transmission through the Camaro rear end with highway gearing. “Tux” has 27 miles on it right now and will go up as I continue to drive it. The truck has been professionally pinstriped, all of the glass, window rubbers and felts are new, new bumpers front and rear, recovered and restored original seat that still flips up and functions like factory, new custom exhaust through turbo mufflers, all of the floor has been coated with dynomat insulation with new carpet over, we installed Dalphin gauges with a full new custom 6 circuit wiring harness, still maintains the brakes under the floor with an updated master cylinder and battery in the stock position under the floor to make the smooth firewall possible. The bed is done in tongue and groove cedar, tailgate still functions like original.Although the truck was recently built it is far from perfect, the paint was done in single stage white and already has some chips and imperfections in it. There has been rust repair done prior to paint and the cab corners were replaced in the process, the bodywork that has been done on the truck is not perfect it has waves in spots, several dents, dings that were not repaired before paint. The truck still features the factory vacuum wiper system that is not hooked up however everything is there even has good wiper arms and new blades. The tires were not put on new but still have decent tread, balance out well and ride good. This is not a perfect truck, it was not built to be.
