1967 Chevrolet Chevelle SS Description

1967 Chevy Chevelle SS 572/620 HP, 5-Speed Resto Mod

I am pleased to offer this beautifully executed 1967 Chevelle SS resto mod. This beauty has been very tastefully done and has only been driven approx. 10 shakedown miles since being completed. This is a real VIN 138 SS396 that now sports a 572 GM crate motor producing approx. 620 HP. VIN # is 138177B173701.

The builder of this 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle SS has elevated the original concept of the big-block Chevelle to a whole new level by adding a ground thumping GM 572 crate motor. An estimated $100,000 was invested in a two-year nut-and-bolt restoration on this classic Chevrolet muscle machine.

This genuine 138-VIN Super Sport enjoys the exhilarating acceleration and big-block snarl possible only with GM Performance’s mighty ZZ572 crate engine, a 620 HP fire breather sporting GM Performance aluminum heads and intake manifold, a Holley 4-barrel carburetor and High Energy Ignition.

Rick’s Hot Rod Shop supplied the OEM-style Stealth series stainless-steel fuel tank and in-tank Aeromotive fuel pump with return bypass setup. A polished aluminum 4-core radiator regulates the 572’s operating temperature, and burnt gasses are expended through custom-made, ceramic-coated headers and a 3-inch mandrel bent Flowmaster exhaust designed to maintain the correct factory-style tailpipe location. A Zoom Kevlar clutch, Richmond 5-speed manual transmission, aluminum driveshaft and a 3.08:1 Positraction rear end with heavy-duty Strange Engineering axles complete the bulletproof drivetrain.

The factory-original front disc brakes were kept and matched with a rear disc upgrade, and the freshened suspension works on 8-inch Rally wheels fitted with BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires. This great Chevelle is offered with copies of receipts and photos.
