1956 Chevrolet Other Pickups 3100 Description

I bought the truck back in 2001 from a gentleman that inherited it from his father who was the original owner. I was told that they had never done anything to the engine or drive train so I believe it is all original to the truck. The truck runs good and the Hydramatic transmission shifts as it should. I had the truck painted a few year after I bought it. The original color was the ivory with red trim, but the truck ended up with a slight yellow tint. I had all the chrome redone at the same time. There are a couple of scratches in the paint, one under the left side of the front grill and one on the drivers door. The small scratches are shown in the pictures. We only drive the truck once a year in our small town parade which consists of roughly 15 miles for advertising. The lettering on the doors are vinyl and should come off with a heat gun. The bed wood is new but needs to be completed. The window crank on the passenger side is missing. The windows go up and down but could probably use new guides. If you have any questions or need additional pictures I will get them for you. The truck is located in Groveland, CA near Yosemite National Park. The truck does have a very reasonable reserve set.
The previous owner had the brakes redone, new rear window installed, and a new gas tank installed just prior to me buying it.
Thanks for looking.

I did some checking of the engine casting numbers which are L155. L stands for the 12th month, 15 is the day and last 5 is the year. So the engine was built December 15, 1955. According to the VIN number, the truck was built at the Los Angeles plant.

There have been several questions sent directly to me about the truck, here they are.
Do you have pictures of the floor and underside? I will take some today and post them.
Do you have a clear title? Yes, I have the pink slip. Currently registered as "non-op"
What type of front end is on it? All original.
What type of brakes? All original but redone.
Is the body straight? Yes.
How does it drive? It drives like a 61 year old truck.

I just posted some additional pictures of the truck. The insulation on the floor board is glues down but I peeled it back a ways and I did not see any sign of rust. The pictures of the underside show typical surface dirt and rust on the axles etc. When the truck was painted, I had the wheels sandblasted and powder coated. I just remembered that the turn signals do not work for some reason. The gas gauge may also need attention.

The next bid will meet the new reserve price. From there the truck will be sold to the highest bidder. Good luck to everyone interested.
