An extensive frame-off restoration was preformed on a incredible survivor 1955 Bel Air car. The car was stripped down to bare metal and painted professionally from top to the incredible clean bottom of this car. The undercarriage is incredible and intact. The car was painted in the correct two tone Indianapolis 500 single stage colors Gypsy Red and Shoreline Beige white. The Beige paint on the back of the car was repainted in base clear with a touch of pearl. During the extensive restoration process the car received New chrome all the way around including, new bumpers front and back, new bumperettes, new continental kit and tire cover, new grill, new side trim and door handles, new windshield and side glass. The engine compartment is in pristine condition. Under the hood is a show quality engine compartmentwith a 265 cubic inch with a 4 barrel carburetor, with Power steering. The interior is amazing and restored to a professional level with new seat covers, new carpet and door panels, new repainted dash, new dash bezels new instrument cluster, toped off with new beige top. This beautiful car is rolling on a new set if wide white tires and correct steel wheels andthe rare optional wire wheel caps.Although the car was builtin the correct time period,"in May 1955" I do not believe that this is a original Indianapolis 500 convertible, but no mater what, it's an awesome 1955 convertible that is an nostalgic icon car. I assume it is just an amazing recreation. IfI had or the paper work and historical documents could be established, it would be worth many times the asking price. We recently drove this car to theWest Coast Street Rod Nationals car show. It was ahuge hit, if you want attention this car will not let you down, everyone wanted to have their picture taken along side this beauty.Car drives down the road very nicely, I will ad more pictures.
