1937 Chevrolet Pickup Truck Hot Rod
This truck was the Carolina Vapor Mill promotional vehicle. We have decided to sell and move to something else. The truck was built by a hot rod shop in Charlotte, NC and we purchased it from them in 2015.
The engine is an old school 348 V-8 from the late 50's (forerunner of the 409), coupled to a 4 speed manual transmission with a Hurst shifter. The rear-end gear ratio is 3.50 to 1 open rear-end. With the addition of power front disc brakes, power steering, and a hydraulic clutch, this hot rod drives with ease and better than stock. The front suspension has a 4 inch drop for that right stance. The gas tank has been relocated to the rear and a modern aluminum fuel cell is used for safety. The truck has a professional exterior paint job with quality clear-coat. It is a good driver-quality paint job with only minor scuffs and scratches. Magnets were used for our logos when attending events to keep the new paint protected. The bed is finished with a clear-coated wood. Underside of truck has minor surface rust. The worst spot is under the right side of the cab. A photograph has been included to show.
Interior has VDO gauges and new electrical along with a tilt steering wheel. The original interior metal was clear coated over for that patina look. It has a functioning heater as well. With sound deadening insulation in the cab and under the carpet to keep the heat out and a more modern chevy truck seat covered in black and white to match the exterior, this truck is a fun runabout with the right sound and look.
Issues to be aware of: The power steering leaks a small amount. Also, the power steering squeals when you turn the wheel before it has been warmed up. There is also a small leak coming from the bottom of the engine. It is not from the oil pan or the engine. I think it is the transmission tail shaft sea. The front window rolls out but the crank to operate it will not, so you have to push it out by hand.
The 37 Chevy has a clean title with no liens. I've taken care of it and have kept records of what I've spent and have repaired and upgraded.
