1972 Chevrolet Chevelle Description

I bought this car about 2 years ago from my cousins mother in law who Ive known my whole life. They owned this car for a long time and its been around my town since almost new. This was a Malibu convertible with a small block in it but I knew the day I bought it that would all change. I picked this car to build because it is probably one of the solidestRUST FREEcars around and the body is lazer straight. I knew right away I was going to make it is close to a factorySS as possibleso I started looking around for months and finallylocated a 1972 402V8 and a 400 Turbo automatic tranny to completely rebuild and stick in the car so that it would be the proper year powertrain and it turned out great especially after adding the FI-TECH FUEL-INJECTIONso it is now aTURN KEY FUEL-INJECTED BIGBLOCKthat anyone can drive because there is no tricks to it you just turn the key and enjoy cruising. The motor was completely gone thru and rebuilt by Cooks Machine Shop and I had them go back pretty much stock but I had them add a double roller timing chain,high volume oil pump, next step up from a stock cam,and forged pistons just for stability. I went back with new exhaust manifolds so they wouldn't leak, with all newStainless Dual Exhaust with Turbo mufflers and chevelle tipsin the back.I alsoadded a aluminum intake with a FI-TECH FUEL-INJECTION that turned the car into a daily driver now if you wanted it to be and is very dependableand was the best upgrade I ever done and installed NEW STAINLESS GAS TANK WITH ALL NEWMETAL LINES andFI TECH ELECTRIC FUEL PUMP. I put NEW DUAL ELECTRIC FANS with a TEMP RELAY and a NEW ALUMINUM 4 CORE RADIATOR! The odometer shows63,012 and I have put appx 2500 miles on it just cruising around on the weekends. The odometer is offon the speed but is a easy fix if you wanted.I also added a GM SERPETINE BELT DRIVE SYSTEM with ALL NEW,ALTERNATOR,POWERSTEERING PUMP,and HARMONIC BALANCER,to get rid of all the skinny little v belts and now its just 1 clean serpentine belt, with some HIDE AWAY SPARK PLUG WIRE GROOMSthat looks 10 times betterand cleaner.I also added a NEW AC COMPRESSOR andNEW AC LINESand etc in case someone had the top up and wanted ac, the fan motor only works on low so it will need another blower motor if you want it to blow harder but never bothered me and the heater will burn you out as well. The transmission was built by Transmission KingsandI added better clutches and discs with a shift kit to strengthen the tranny and it now has a nice shift and will last much longer. I wanted to do it right and have warranties on the powertrain with receipts to prove the work was done that's why I paid more to have shops rebuild the motor and tranny. Everyone always says this and that was done but I wanted to be able to back it up with receipts other then just saying it was done! The rear axle shoud be 342 gears which is just right for cruising the highway and sounds great going down the highway. I put a set of 17x9 inch YEAR ONE SS Rims with a set of275/40/17's tires that made the car look and ride 10 times better since they are now much wider you have much more tread on the highway so it rides and drives much smoother!!! The Interior was redone with a New Soft Top appx. 6 years ago and looks nice. There is a Pioneer tape player in the car and it is not been cut out so you could go back original if you wanted. I put a little set of gauges under the dash that can be removed if you want I just didn't trust the old gauges and prefer seeing exactly how my engine is running other then waiting on a red light to come on and then the motor blows!!! The convertible top motor works as should and there is no problems with it everything operates smooth. As far as the body it was already a really straight car since it was garaged so I just slicked it up and just sprayed it back Bright Red with a NEW STEEL SS COWL HOOD with some beautiful White stripes and ALL NEW SS EMBLEMS,CHROME FENDER TRIM,CHROME MIRRIORS,BRAKE LENSES,TURN SIGNAL LENSES,and etc. Whats nice about this car is its a FACTORY DISC BRAKE CAR so it stops great and I put new BRAKE HOSES,WHEEL CYLINDERS AND REAR SHOES. Overall I could not be prouder of the way this car turned out and this by far is one of the top muscle cars on the list to own especially being a BIG BLOCK,CONVERTIBLE CHEVELLE that was RUST FREE.Since the chevellesare a Full Frame car itis one of the best driving cars I have owned and it rides smoother then a new car. This is a EXCELLENT CAR to own and keep for many years and would make a EXCELLENT INVESTMENT for someone who wanted to cruise it for several years and sell it for much more since every year they go UP,UP,UP! Overall This is a 10 times better car then it was the day it was new and was done right at my shop and is going to be tuff to see her go but I started another ride so hopefully selling my car will build it. OVERALL IF SOMEONE IS LOOKING FOR A GOOD INVESTMENT AND A EXTREMELY NICE CONVERTIBLE THIS WILL BE THE ULTIMATE MUSCLE CAR TO CRUISE AROUND WITH THE TOP DOWN AND GET PLENTY OF ATTENTION IN OR JUST SIMPLY HIT CAR SHOWS OR TAKE YOUR OLE LADY OUT IN TO SPICE OF THE RELATIONSHIP WHATEVER IT IS I PROMISE THIS CAR IS GOING TO MAKE SOMEONE A VERY FUN CONVERTIBLE TO OWN.
