2003 Chevrolet Suburban LT Description

I bought this truck in 2013 from Texas with 57k on it. I bought it to tow a camper. I immediately had the transmission and transfer case rebuilt, so they have much less mileage on them. Underneath was literally like brand new- that's why I brought it to NY from Texas. For the last 4 years it has been Krown under coated prior to every winter, so it is still pretty clean. It does have a little surface rust here and there, but no typical nasty scaly rust and no rust holes like typical NY vehicles. Look up Krown if your not familiar with it-it is an oil sprayed on and in everywhere in the truck. It does make the underneath oily and dust will stick to it, but it can be washed off. Ever see an old leaky tractor? It has oily dirt on it, but no rust underneath it.The truck does have 131k on it, so it is not brand new. It has wear consistent with the mileage. See pictures. Let me know what pictures you want to see.Too much to list, it has leather, factory DVD, Bose, quad buckets, 12,000 lb towing, 4.10 rear (full floating axle- this is the truck to Duramax convert) radio has been upgraded to Bluetooth, but still have OEM radio. It had a bunch or extras on it when I bought it, I deleted most, so it does up have a few small holes in the dash. Everything works. I have 3 sets of mirrors currently, the power extension mirrors on it, the Original white power fold, and some clip ons for them. I am selling it with one set of mirrors- your choice. Truck may need to be reprogrammed depending on what you choose. I do also have 2 sets of wheels and tires- on the truck are newer OEM GMC rims with decent tires, but far from new. The other set are winter Michelins on nasty American Racing rims- all corroded and peeling. They are about half tread. The only body rust is on the OUTSIDE of the rockers- see picture. If you know these trucks you know they rust/bubble from the INSIDE, these are sprayed inside every winter, so no rust. Underneath is still very clean, but does have some surface rust here and there, see pictures.Engine is a typical 8.1. It has the cold-start knock most of them have, it goes away when warm. It has been there all along. I have had the oil analyzed by Blackstone to confirm the motor was good numerous times (I hate the cold start knock, but many Chevys have them). Motor is strong, doesn't smoke, but does require adding oil between oil changes. If you are looking at one of these 8.1's and theydon't advertise the cold start and the oil usage, then they simplyaren't tellingyou the whole story.Only thing I know the truck will need soon is brakes. They work good, are the typical hydroboost that come on these heavy trucks. If you ride them downhill the rotors will start to pulsate, so I would do new rotors if I did the brakes. There may be some oil leaks, but it's hard to tell with the truck being spray under coated every winter.Only dash light/code is the shocks- see picture. "Authoride" in the 3/4 ton trucks is electric controlled valve shocks, NOT air ride.At least one of the shocks may be bad- but the suspension is soooooo stiff I don't notice it, and have never trouble-shot it. Most people delete these shocks and convert to typical, standard shocks.Exhaust is Magnaflo- and I believe it is stainless back to the muffler. Tail pipes were not stainless and they did rust off. I can get them replaced if you want.It does have an aftermarket hitch- the factory ones were kinda weak. I do believe it also has the 12k plus rating. The leather is showing it's age like they all do. No major cracks or tears- again see pictures.I want you to know every detail so there is no surprised, but it's hard to list or show every detail. Feel free to contact me to ask questions of request more pictures. Tell me what you want to see or know. Most dealers hide details, I'm not a dealer, so I am trying to be fully disclosing.(Pictures are not currently loading, but I will add them as soon as I can)Recent repairs: ball joints, water pump, probably more.Sorry, I do have to put a reserve on it, I can't give it away. I'll continue to tow with it if it doesn't hit my reserve. The reserve is a few thousand less that a nearly identical truck that sold on here recently, so don't be afraid to bid.
IF YOU DO BUY IT NOW, I WILL HAVE THE FRONT BRAKES, TAIL PIPES, AND SHOCKS REPAIRED BEFORE DELIVERY. If you are like me, you might prefer to decide how/where to repair it yourself, that is why I have the much lower reserve so you can choose to buy it "As Is" and complete these minor repairs yourself. Your choice.
Truck just passed inspection, and is still being driven, and still towing occasionally. It just towed a 9600b trailer to the 1000 islands, no issues.
