1965 Chevrolet Corvair Corsa Description

Fun little car with a lot of upgrades. Original California Black Plate car that spent it's entire life in California except for the past 2 years in Ohio. Upgrades include:

1) Nice orange metallic paint with SS Ghost Stripes on hood and trunk.

2) Rally style wheels - Brand new with 195/60-15 Front and 215/60/15 rear

3) Disc Brakes front / Drum rear.

4) 4 speed, new clutch with Red Line 75-90 Synthetic Gear Oil in the trans.

5) Electric Fuel Pump with electronic cutoff if oil pressure drops.

6) Electronic front trunk remote release.

7) Custom / Brand new airconditioning system with efficient Sanden compressor. Controls in place of Ashtray in dash. Work great and blows cold.

8) AM/FM/CD/IPod/Bluetooth radio with 3 speakers in the back and 2 underdash - w remote and removable faceplate.

9) Custom black leather interior with bucket seats, cupholders front and rear (holds a big gulp!:-)) and center console in front. New headliner and door panels. Interior in great shape. Needs new dome lamp that I have purchased installed. Paint and trim inside in great shape. Front buckets fold forward and adjust for easy access in the rear.

10) Glass and trim in great shape. New seals, fuzzies, etc.. Wipers, locks, handles, windows, etc... all work with no issues.

11) Engine - Lot's of goodies here. Headers with turbo mufflers. Nice sound but not loud. Weber 44 IDF carbs on custom manifolds mounted on the 140HP Heads. There are very few sets of these manifolds around. Folks will tell you webers need to be one venturi to each intake runner. Hogwash! Properly jetted these run great. And they do. I've worked with Webers for years. I will include over $200 of extra jets and emulsion tubes to fine tune depending on your elevation. Engine is clean and well sorted, runs great. New V-Belts, Fresh oil and filter change. Clarks baffle and deep sump cast oil pan. Pan seal is like new. Newer Optima red top battery. Fresh plugs and wires.

12) Body - Great shape. A few scratches here and there from being driven. Engine compartment and trunk, clean, no rust, no bondo, etc.....Bumpers and all chrome shiny and straight. Door jambs, sill plates, hinges, seals....all in great shape.

13) Custom gauges with white faces and soft purple backlighting. All work: Speedo, Tach, Fuel, Volts, Temp....although speedo is slow by about 10 MPH.

** Total Mileage is unknown

What needs to be done:

1) I purchased a very high end cylinder head temperature gauge from an aircraft gauge company. They are custom built and I waited six weeks for it. The cost is over $500. It is a dual gauge with dual analog readouts. I have not had a chance to install it. Depending on the final sell price of the car I will (or will not :-) ) include it with the car. It comes with all sending units, wiring and instructions.

2) There is a clunk in the front end. I purchased a complete front suspension rebuild kit: Tie rod ends, ball joints and all bushings. I have not yet installed these. They will also go with the car.

***NOTE: This car does not have the corvair heating system installed due to the headers. I have the controls and all ducting (except that black dry hose) and it will come with the car.

Car is sold as is, where is. If you have zero bid history, contact me or I will cancel your bid. Questions? Call: 419-706-7401. No trades. Thanks!
