2002 Chevrolet Camaro SS Description

Unique 2002 SS Brickyard 400 Camaro

In 2002, the last year of the 4th Generation Camaro, 57 Z7D Camaros were built on the same day to serve as Festival Cars in the 2002 Brickyard 400. They wereequipped with the "SS Brickyard 400 Package" for higher performance on the track. These cars were track/parade cars foreach of the drivers. Following the race 13 cars were given to GM executives and 1 to the track. The other 43 were made available to the public. They were the first Brickyard Festival car to be given a Special RPO code, forever branding them as part of this historic race and making these unique collector cars.

Authentic Track Cars

The Brickyard 400 Camaro SS is a convertible that was driven by the drivers of the Brickyard 400 during the festival that took place the week of the race. As these cars were some of the last of the 4th Generation Camaro, GM obtained permission from NASCAR to allow all the drivers to sign the invoices of their respective cars.

A Camaro Driven by a NASCAR Champion

Dale Jarrett not only drove the car, but signed the invoice. Dale Jarrett won the NASCAR Championship in 1999 and is a 3 time winner of the Daytona 500 and 2 time winner of the Brickyard 400.
