After 35 years, my free barn storage has timed out. I have decided to place my 1971 Nova SS up for auction. I am all but certain this is a numbers matching car as it has been in my possession since 1979, and nothing number bearing has been replaced. The car was place into storage in 1982 and has not seen the light of day until now, it is 99% complete. I believe I am the third owner of the vehicle. It came to me with the Hurst shifter and Hooker headers installed that remain in place today.
The Nova SS originally sold new at the Chevrolet/Buick dealership here in Stockton IL. I will let the pic’s of the original documents speak for themselves as to the factory installed equipment etc.….
The Nova SS has a 350 Cubic Inch motor, 4 Barrel carburetor, 4 speed manual transmission and Posi-traction axle. The car was running when it was placed into storage in 1982. I have not tried to start the car since. It will need to be hauled to your location on a trailer that has a wench, tilt bed, etc. for restoration or storage… The car is currently at a location that will be easy to maneuver a tilt bed hauler or pickup truck and trailer. I have an air compressor on site, the tires will hold air long enough to get the car loaded.
The original keys have been misplaced and the spare key that I had cut 38 years ago will not open the trunk. You should assume there is typical mid-west rust in the trunk pan. I do have the original key plugs so you can have GM keys made to match the lock. The ignition key I had cut will turn the ignition.
The Nova SS comes with the original Invoice, PROTECTO-O- PLATE, Vehicle Inspection Sheet, Car Shipper Document, Air Pollution Certificate, tax statement, membership decal, owner’s manual, Chevrolet consumer information, the original key plugs etc. making this an excellent restoration project for the serious classic car collector/investor as there is no denying this is the real deal. Do your research on documented classic cars.
There is a $500.00 non-refundable PayPal deposit due immediately when the auction ends. The balance is to be paid in full by cash, cashers check, or money order when the car is picked up in Stockton IL.
I shouldn’t have to say it but if you do not have the money in hand, do not bid. Thank you for looking at my auction and have a great day.
