1969 Chevrolet Camaro Pro Street Description

A good pro-street machine is a car with a mean racetrack appearance and just enough legality to hang a license plate, - and this 1969 Chevrolet Camaro does it perfectly. It already has all the necessary equipment to drive to the dragstrip, teach a few tire-smoking lessons, and then look terrific cruising under the Saturday night neon.First-generation Camaros are great cars to start with as a pro-street custom build because they are small in size, light in weight, but big in stature. And from the moment it comes into view, you can instantly tell this Camaro is a serious contender from every angle. Up front is the SS badge on the intimidating hidden headlight RS grille, and the power bulge of the cowl hood is hard to miss. Weld racing wheels are a performance icon, and the profile has a menacingly aggressive stance that hints at the tubbed rear. It's even better out back were we all love to see the extra wide rubber that now fits beneath this classic. Wrap it all in red paint that has been given so much investment that it competes with the chrome bumpers for shine. This is the kind of total package that will keep people talking long after you drive away.Open the door, and this Camaro is a bit surprising. It has everything needed to be the street king and a bit more. Gray tweed interior is part of a full custom package for the seats, doors, dash, and custom rear panel. The buckets look exceptionally comfortable and have four-point RCI racing harnesses. The roll cage on this custom build is painted to match the exterior red, and it even includes a fire extinguisher. A car this competition-focused is not expected to have everyday comforts, but this custom build is a bit different. After all, you have to have some tunes to listen to on your way to the drag races. So this one has a modern AM/FM/CD player with a subwoofer, and enough amplified wattage that you can still hear your music no matter how hard you're riding the accelerator. There's even air conditioning so you can stay cool while looking cool in this pro-street machine. The whole engine bay is stuffed with big block power, and it's ready to show off. Between the bright red fender walls and all the polished components, you don't even need to hit the racetrack for this V8 to impress. Etched flames and valve covers are always a cool touch. When you look beyond the style, you'll see the substance of a performance-built 427 cubic-inch V8. It includes a Holley double-pumper four-barrel carburetor, custom aluminum radiator, and a set of long tube headers that feed the wicked-sounding Flowmaster dual exhaust. While the way this one growls at start-up is enough to scare away lesser cars, you can easily prove your point with a stout TH350 (with iconic horseshoe shifter for total control.) This feeds a Dana 60 rear end running low gears for power take-offs. And as you look over all the pictures, you'll soon realize all the right supporting components are in place. This includes power steering, four-wheel disc brakes, and an adjustable coilover rear end. Even the fuel cell and battery were relocated to the trunk for more traction weight on the massive Mickey Thompson rear rubber.Beautifully built and insanely fast, this cool Camaro nails pro-street in all the ways that matter. So if you want to be memorable this weekend, you need to call today!
