1972 Chevrolet Chevelle SS Description

FOR SALE IS A 1972 CHEVELLE SS RESTO-MOD. I BOUGHT THIS CAR IN VERY ORIGINAL CONDITION- AND BELIEVE IT TO BE A REAL SS. IT HAS BOXED LOWER CONTROL ARMS, REAR ANTI-SWAY BAR, HEAVY DUTY FRONT ANTI-SWAY BAR, ROUND SS DASH GAUGES, SSDOOR PANELS, DOMED HOOD WITH HOOD PINS, SS DRIVERS REMOTE MIRROR, GLOVE BOX LIGHT, FRONT DISC BRAKES-ALL THINGS THAT CAME ON AN SS. IT HAD A 350 WHEN I BOUGHT IT- BUT WAS NOT NUMBERS MATCHING( I BELEIVE THE REAR AND TRANNY ARE ORIGINAL)-SO I DECIDED TO RESTO-MOD IT INSTEAD OF RESTORE IT. I HAVE SPENT 2 FULL YEARS RESTORING THIS CAR AND A LOT OF MONEY. I AM SELLING IT SO I CAN START A NEW PROJECT. FIRST THING IS THIS CAR HAS NO TITLE- IT WILL BE SOLD WITH BILL OF SALE AS PER GEORGIA DID NOT REQUIRE TITLES ON PRE-1984 VEHICLES. THIS CAR IS ON THE ROAD AND MY DAILY DRIVER. THIS CAR WAS BUILT MORE FOR "GO" THAN FOR SHOW, EVEN THOUGH IT GETS MANY LOOKS AND COMMENTS WHENEVER I DRIVE IT. IT HAS A NEWLY REBUILT 454 BORED .030 OVER AND IS NOW A 468 C.I. PROFESSIONALLY REBUILT. IT HAS A HIGH RISE MANIFOLD, SUMMIT 750 DOUBLE PUMPER CARB, SUMMIT IGNITION BOX, NEW HIGH VOLTAGE DISTRIBUTOR WITH MSD CAP, MALLORY CERAMIC BOOT WIRES. THE ENGINE HAS A NEW PERFORMANCE CAM, ROLLER ROCKERS WITH STUD GIRDLES, HIGH FLOW OIL AND FUEL PUMP. THIS ENGINE IS EVERYTHING YOU WOULD EXPECT FROM A BIG BLOCK- IT WILL PUT YOU BACK IN YOUR SEAT, AND BURN THE TIRES PRETTY GOOD TOO! THE ENGINE HAS JUST OVER 2000 MILES ON IT AND IS "BROKEN IN" NOT RACED OR BEAT ON. THERE IS A 400 TURBO TRANNY, BRAND NEW EATON 355 POSI REAR GEARS-PROFESSIONALLY INSTALLED, HIGH PERFORMANCE BALANCED DRIVE SHAFT WITH SPICER HEAVY DUTY U-JOINTS TO HOLD ALL THAT POWER. WHEN I BOUGHT THIS CAR IT WAS VERY ORIGINAL- I HAVE CUT OUT AND REPLACED BOTH FULL REAR QUARTER PANELS, BOTH DOORS, AND BOTH FRONT FENDERS HAVE BEEN REPLACED WITH NEW. THE TRUNK FLOOR, PACKAGE TRAY TRUNK PANELS HAVE ALL BEEN FULLY REPLACED WITH NEW SHEET METAL FROM GOODMARK, AND NPD. NEW FULL DRIVERS FLOOR PAN INSTALLED. I INSTALLED THICK 80 MIL SOUND DEADENING/HEAT SHIELD TO THE ENTIRE FLOOR, ADDED FLOOR SHIFTER AND CONSOLE. IT HAS BLACK CHROME COY WHEELS WITH NEARLY NEW BFG T/A RADIAL TIRES. THIS CAR HAS BEEN A SOUTHERN CAR ALL ITS LIFE AS FAR AS I KNOW. IT WAS BUILT IN ARLINGTON TEXAS, AND IS CURRENTLY REGISTERED IN GEORGIA. I HAVE INSTALLED 2 NEW RACING SEATS IN THE FRONT.THIS IS AN A/C CAR THOUGH IT IS NOT INSTALLED- I HAVE THE ORIGINAL EVAPORATOR AND COMPRESSOR BRACKETS- I LEFT IT OFF FOR MORE POWER. IT HAS DASH VENTS AND CONTROLS FOR A/C IN THE DASH. ORIGINAL AM RADIO- DASH IS NOT CUT ON. MANY NEW PARTS TOO NUMEROUS TO LIST SUCH AS NEW GAS TANK, HEADERS AND DUAL EXHAUST, HIGH OUTPUT CHROME ALTERNATOR, CARPET, HEADLINER, PACKAGE TRAY, MIRRORS, MUCH MONEY SPENT. THE WHOLE FRONT END WAS REBUILT WITH NEW PARTS, ALL NEW SPRINGS, SHOCKS, BUSHINGS, BALL JOINTS, STEERING LINKS, ETC. NEW REAR SPRINGS, CONTROL ARM BUSHINGS, NEW BUMPERS, NEW VINYL ROOF.....ON AND ON FEEL FREE TO ASK ANY QUESTIONS. THE CAR WAS JUST RECENTLY PAINTED- NOT A SHOW QUALITY JOB- NEEDS GAPS TWEAKED. ALL NEW RUBBER SEALS THROUGHOUT. NEW ENGINE WIRING HARNESS. ALL LIGHTS, WIPERS, BRAKES WORK AS THEY SHOULD. I DRIVE THIS CAR EVERY DAY-STARTS RIGHT UP EVERY TIME-A LOT OF FUN TO DRIVE!
