If you don't know how to drag and paste enter 1986 Atlas Yellow Silverado in the search box on YouTube!
If you're in the market for a square body, short bed Silverado with some serious bling your search may be over. This 1986 Chevy with 'in your face colors' is just what the Doctor ordered. Pull into any cars and coffee, or any stop light next to some plastic 'modern' version (which would cost three times as much), and Old Yeller will get the nod of approval and the thumbs up. Added to the good looks is a very practical truck that will get the job done and will handle all duties like a Rock.
I purchased this truck in January off of Ebay and found a seller who truly undersold his vehicle. I was very pleased with my purchase but I have had some very difficult circumstances arise and never got around to enjoying it. When it arrived it had just been fully mechanically restored with a fresh rebuilt 350 engine, mated to a rebuilt 700R4 transmission, with a rebuilt stock (open) rear end, new brakes, new wheels, new tires, new fuel pump, headers, Flowmaster exhaust, and all of the suspension mechanicals redone. Since that restoration there has been less than 500 miles put on it and it runs, drives, steers and stops like a new truck. That is NOT exaggeration. It doesn't pull to either side, there are no rattles when you go over bumps, there are no clunks when you put it into gear, and it will get up and boogie when you put your foot in it and without poorly running or tunedcarburetorhesitation. This truck runs so well that after manually starting it once in the morning this carbureted 350 will fire up by the remote start all day. I demonstrate this and everything else functioning in the YouTube video link.
In addition to the mechanicals this truck just underwent an entire repaint with the bed, hood, cowl, bumpers, lights and all trim removed prior to paint. It is a base coat, clear coat with the color being Atlas Yellow. Further accentuating the cosmetics is a whole bunch of new. It has all new tinted glass, all new interior to include dash, dash bezel, AC vents, upholstery, carpet, seat belts, door panels, door panel trim, head liner, window switches, door straps, vinyl chrome stripe around the exterior, new lights, new bumpers, new bumper mounts, newunder hood insulation, mostly new bulbs, new side marker lights, new tail lights, etc. All of the stock accessories function as they were designed including the clock and cigarette lighter. Only the ammeter doesn't work. The video demonstrates this for you. All of this work was done on a truck that has no rust repair or even surface rust. If there is any minor ugly it would be the spray or roll on bed liner (bought it that way), which has some lumps but the bed has ZERO dents and if it isn't up to snuff in your world and your intentions inexpensively redo it or put in a bed mat.
People quite often view classic cars/trucks as toys but this is a very functional and practical truck that can be used as ones daily driver to do the same thing that the guy who spent 40k for his new version. The significant difference in price advantage is also bolstered by the fact that these square body Chevys have a 'classic' value and if the truck is well kept you will also be missing that huge bill for depreciation, such as the guy who bought the new version is experiencing. When you drive the new one off the lot just throw 10k out the window and burn 5k a year so and in five or six years it's worth 10k. The point is these trucks also make goodfinancial sense. Tell that to your better half!
The truck is in Denton, Texas and I will make it available for any interested party to inspect. The vehicle still has a Georgia title.Payment must be made by bank wire transfer or cash in person within three business days of the auction ending. If you care to have any additional photos or other information call me at 817 403-7723. I am open to cash offers prior to the auction ending and I reserve the right to end this auction at any time as the truck is for sale locally. Thank you for your interest and keep on Chevy trucking!
