The block is stamped 3963512 which is a 1969-71, 427ci, 425hp period correct block. The 12-bolt positraction axle has 4.10:1 gears and is marked KQ0308 (March 8 1968) with a heavy-duty suspension. Front discs standard on Super Sport Chevelles, were a mandatory $64 option on COPO cars. From the SS version, GM borrowed the black grille and tail panel, hood bulges, side stripes, and chrome exhaust tips. However, there was no performance ID on the body. The interior was from a plain Malibu. To order one of these cars, all you needed were the COPO 9566AA or 9566BA codes and a dealer plus your check book. Original Yenko correct COPOs sell for $260,000 plus.
