2002 Corvette Z06 - Only 13k Miles - $5k Invested - No Reserve!
2002 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Description
Up for sale is my 2002 Corvette Z06 with 13k miles! This is my baby. This car is just mint and absolutely as clean as they come. I would say it may be the cleanest if not one of the cleanest C5 Z06 corvettes in the country for sale right now. In 2002 the MSRP on this car was $52,000 and it is still new today! This car still has that "new car smell" when you open up the doors. For the past 7 years I have been the caretaker for this fine machine. I spend most of my time washing and waxing it and I never drive it. The car has never seen a drop of rain. I pull it out of the garage to wash it, take it for a spin around the block and then put it right back in the garage and cover it back up again.

Why I bought this car- I purchased this car from Turner Corvette in Victor, NY in 2009. Turner was fairly well known in our area and around the northeast as being a corvette specialist for over 40 years. They carefully hand picked their vettes and only sell as near to perfect vehicles as they come. Sadly Bill Turner died a few years ago and the family sold the company. I purchased this car with the intent of keeping it forever. I have purchased and modified a number of vehicles in my life. Many times I have purchased a vehicle that was designed to be more of an economy car and figured I would add a few modifications to make it go faster, handle better, sound better, look better etc. In general this leads to a car that is not being used for its original intent and the cars become problematic. I decided it was time to purchase a vehicle that was designed "from the ground up" to be amazingly fast, handle like its on rails and stop on a dime. The Z06 is a lightweight, excellent handling race car designed to be a race car on the street and packs a large displacement naturally aspirated V8 (there is no replacement for displacement) which does not rely on the addition of turbos or supercharges to produce HP.
Why I am sellingMy wife really wants a pool for our kids and this sale would give us enough money to make that happen. So in essence I am selling this car because I love my kids.
What I love about this car...
- All Business:There is no "look at me" flashy colors, led lights or even one single duct on this car for show. Absolutely everything was designed for one single purpose which is to "go fast". It has an awesome car/driver connection which the newer vettes seem to have lost with their addition of technology. The C5 Z06 has a raw feeling when you drive it which is reminiscent of the older muscle cars.- Titanium Exhaust:I added the longtube headers with the high flow cats but kept the stock titanium exhaust. All the aftermarket exhaust kits are stainless steel and don't have quite the same sound as a titanium exhaust. The titanium sounds a little more exotic like a Ferrari while the stainless exhausts have a deeper drone sound. I like the factory looking exhaust from the outside but with the addition of the headers this car goes from mild to wild when you step on the gas. There is also a bit of history behind the titanium exhaust. in 2001 Chevrolet had to develop their own grade of titanium to manufacture this exhaust which at the time was so revolutionary the only other car on the market with a titanium exhaust was the Mclaren F1.- Heads Up Display:If your not familiar with the heads up display, the mph, rpm and oil level is projected onto the windshield (this can be turned off) so you can keep your eyes on the road and not have to look down when driving aggressively. It also helps to keep my speed under control when driving around town and keeping an eye on the speed limit.- Two tone red and black leather interior -The two tone red and black interior was a rare option in 2002. Every time I open the drivers door to show off the interior people are wowed by how cool the interior looks. Its a perfect balance of black and red which matches the exterior red accents and engine bay red accents perfectly.- 2002 Badging- The C5 Z06's were only made in 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004. The 2001 you don't want because it was a first model year and is occasionally referred to the the "slow year" because it is the only Z06 with 385 HP (Not 405 HP). The 2003 was an "anniversary year" which has these ugly silver anniversary logos on the car which is really more hype than anything. So if you looking for a C5 Z06 the best years are the 2002 and 2004 in my opinion.
Factory stock performance figures for the 405hp version of this Z06 include an acceleration time from 0-60mph in 3.9 seconds and 12.4 seconds in the quarter mile. Although I have never raced or dyno tested this car myself I would estimate the modifications to bring approximately 50 additional hp (some claim higher). We figure this car has roughly 455Hp and would break into the 11's with an experienced driver and perfect track conditions. The power to weight ration on this car is roughly 1 hp for every 6.85 lbs.
I own this car free and clear and I have the title in my hands. This is a serious car so I am only looking for serious buyers. The mileage on this car will appeal to collectors however its comfortable enough to be a daily driver as well.
