1966 Chevrolet Nova Hardtop
1966 Chevrolet Chevy II Nova Description
1966 Nova 2 door hardtop. Started life as a 6 cylinder, auto it was converted into a hot little street machine, judging from the vintage speed equipment I'd guess sometime in the 70's. What I do know it was purchased by a collector in the early 80's and never registered or driven since until we purchased it last year from the collectors estate. The engine code stamp reads T1123HV which decodes to a 350HP 327 from a 1965 Corvette. I have no idea how many miles are on it or what internally has been done but with fresh fluids and a new battery it fired right up, run fine, doesn't smoke. Does sound like it has a mild cam, it has an old style Eldelbrock Torquer manifold, Holley carb, headers and a beautiful set of vintage Cal Custom valve covers. It does have the correct Nova only oil pan and bellhousing. Transmission is a 4 speed Saginaw, rest of the drivetrain appears to be stock, car drives fine, clutch, trans, brakes all seem to work as they should. I did go thru and make sure lights, horns, wipers ect all work and replaced the 40 year old tires with new BFG T/As. Wheels are a nice vintage set of classic Crager SS. At some point in the car's slumber a cosmetic restoration was started. A cowl style hood was added and the car repainted in a nice burgundy metallic BC/CC. I wouldn't call it a show paint job but it's really nice. I'd give the bodywork a 9/9.5 and the paint a 8 out of 10. Nice and straight with good gloss (see reflections in the pics) there are some minor flaws left in the paint when viewed up close. I cannot find any rust/ rot anywhere in the car or any signs of rust or accident repair. The floors are all original, never undercoated and really nice, I understand the car been here in NM it's whole life so that's pretty common. The underside looks to of been cleaned up and painted semigloss black. A new reproduction black interior kit was installed including headliner, carpet, door panels and dash pad. A new Kenwood sound system was installed to replace the dead analog cassett player, other then the stereo and Hurst shifter the interior is stock. A new windshield was installed, rest of the glass is original and does have some minor scratches. All trim inside or out is either new or clean, nice original.Overall this is a sweet, fun little car, ready for cruse nights. Not a show car but really nice driver quality and the reserve price reflex that. Feel free to contact me for more info or to pre inspect at 505-453-4760. The car is in Albuquerque, NM.
