VIN DECODED
VH255K031312
V(original V8 truck)H(3100 short bed)2(2nd series, the 1st series trucks ran into 1955, these tri-five pickups were produced late 55-57)K(Kansas City Born) the rest of the numbers are production sequence)
MECHANICAL
Chevy small block 350 V8, recent rebuild. HEI (electronic ignition) Edelbrock aluminum intake, 4 barrel electric choke carburetor, ram-horn exhaust manifolds. Dual exhaust, we just added dual “Cherry Bomb” glass-pack mufflers for that old school hot rod sound. Motor has great torque and power, estimated in the 300HP range, suffix code “CGC” 1971 350. Front clip from a 77 Camaro, so disc front brakes, 2 ½ drop spindles. Truck has been aligned recently, goes down the road straight.Power steering, TH-350 automatic transmission. Rear axle is 1969 Chevelle 10 bolt with a limited slip posi, 3.07 geared (great for highway cruising). Truck re-wired.
BODY
Factory 3100 short bed by the VIN#, very important to not buy a chopped 3200 long bed.I could not find any areas of significant rot, this truck lived its whole life in the high desert of eastern Washington. There are several dings in the body. The paint was a budget job years ago. I call it a 20 footer, but it’s not an eyesore up-close. This truck would be a good candidate for full restoration, but my opinion is leave it, drive it, have a good time with it, or upgrade next winter as you drive it.
Please look at all the pictures and watch the video, I go into more details. We’ve gone over the major components and have this truck to a level where anyone with slight mechanical ability can tinker with it going forward. We fixed any issues we found, but this is a 61 year old truck, all vintage vehicles need tinkering, that is part of the fun. Matching title and VIN tag. VERY important, as the VIN tags on these years were not attached well, many are gone which makes it impossible to register in states like CA. I bet ½ of these trucks I look at have missing tags. Nothing is more iconic than a Tri-Five Chevy, most restored versions start at 50k, have seen many go through auction over 100k.
I have a clean clear WA state title in hand, in my name. I accept bank to bank wire or cashier’s check in full within 3 days closed auction to my US Bank business account. I will take PayPal, but payment must be made through their friends and family no fee program. Title or vehicle do not leave my property until full cleared payment, I USPS priority you the title after payment.I have a shipping broker whom has shipped dozens of vehicles for me, I will put you in contact with him or work with your shipper.Shipping quote from my broker for the buyer only. I welcome 3rd party inspections during not after the auction. I own Automotive Appraisals & Pre-Buy Inspections so skip me when looking. I’m glad to answer questions, but please watch the video, read this add, and check out all the pictures 1st. Thanks and happy bidding!
