Up for your consideration is a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD LS. This has a Duramax Diesel LB7 with Allison Transmission and is 4X4. It has 164,617 miles and is all stock except for the Nicktane fuel filter conversion. The truck is equipped with SiriusXM and OnStar, but the OnStar is the obsolete analog system that will require a conversion to digital for use. There is one remote (locks) and two keys.
The interior is above average for this age of a truck. No excessive wear on the upholstery and no holes in the seats. There are high-end digi-camo seat covers that are included for the front seats - I have uncovered the driver's side so you can see the condition of the fabric. The passenger side is in like new condition. Carpet is good – no rips, excessive wear, or burns. This is a non-smoker owned vehicle. Dash is good, all electronics work as designed. Cold AC. There is a drop-in bed liner and soft tonneau cover that rolls back and ties up. It is water tight. The bed liner has no holes in it and no 5th wheel was ever installed. The tow mirrors actually work – they extend out about 5 inches or so. The motors tend to fail on this design but these ones still work.
The truck is not perfect – has typical cosmetic wear and tear for a 13 year old truck. It runs phenomenally and would make a great tow rig, daily driver, or work truck, or it could be ready for your customization project. There is no smoke except what you would expect from a pre-emissions diesel like this (stomp on it and get a light puff). No smoke at idle or normal driving whatsoever. I routinely run proper fuel additives to help with injector life. The truck runs and sounds great - like a diesel should.
The truck looks good but it is not a show truck. It has some corrosion in the normal places for this body style (inner fenders, cab corners, bedsides) but nothing your average body shop couldn’t handle with ease. It could use a good re-work and paint job depending on what your plans are. The rocker panels have been replaced. There is no collision damage whatsoever - the carfax is clean on this vehicle.
I am the third owner of this vehicle and have owned it since 2014. It rarely gets driven, as it is one of four vehicles in our driveway. We drive it to the dump and tow a small carry-on trailer with it once in a while. I have a new truck so I definitely don’t need two of them.
Note – there is a lien on this vehicle; therefore, please allow up to a week for the title release. If you are going to drive it away, please plan on obtaining a trip permit from your local DMV office.
