For $3500, the 1LE option transforms the Camaro SS into a finely tuned handling instrument, a track-ready performer on the order of the Porsche 911 GT3. Even if you never take your Camaro to a road course, 1LE is a must-have option for the driving enthusiast. It’s telling that the order form won’t let you pair an automatic transmission and 1LE—presumably, that’s Chevy’s way of saying, “Serious Inquiries Only.”
Hardware From The ZL1
Chassis changes are extensive and bring the 1LE closely in line with the handling, if not the ultimate prowess, of the 580-hp ZL1. Compared with the standard SS, the front and rear anti-roll bars are enlarged, a strut-tower brace is bolted in place, monotube rear shocks replace the SS’s twin-tube units, and black 20-inch wheels—10-inches wide in front and 11-inches wide in back—are furnished with 285/35R-20 Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar G:2 rubber borrowed from the ZL1’s front end. To help keep it all working under duress, the ZL1’s wheel bearings, rear shock mounts, and larger fuel pump are used.
In addition to the black wheels, the exterior is dressed up with a hood wrapped in black vinyl, as well as larger front and rear spoilers. Interior changes include the microfiber-wrapped steering wheel and shifter from the ZL1. That shifter has shorter throws and churns a close-ratio six-speed gearbox with a shorter (numerically higher) final-drive ratio.
Taut And Communicative
Those are the goods. But what makes the 1LE remarkable is how these parts combine to change how the Camaro feels. Even though the steering is electrically boosted, it’s full of information. Tiny vibrations and kicks come through, delivering communiqués from the road. Turn the Camaro toward its 1.01-g’s of grip and the steering heft increases as the front tires bite into the tarmac. Ride quality is on the harsh side and may be a bit too rough for some, but impacts are immediately dissipated by the taut structure. This also explains why Chevy won’t give you the 1LE kit on a convertible. Tiny window openings and thick A- and C-pillars might be terrible for visibility, but they’re great for structural rigidity.
There’s a directness that pervades the 1LE. Chevy removes every bit of imprecision. Any slack that’s in a regular Camaro SS is gone; every part of the car is pulled tight.
What the 1LE code doesn’t change is the engine. Like all manual Camaro SS models the 1LE spins its rear wheels with a 426-hp 6.2-liter LS3 V-8. Our test car’s V-8 plays through an $895 two-mode exhaust system that opens valves to allow for more noise under hard acceleration and at high rpm. Acceleration times fall in line with like-priced versions of the Ford Mustang and the Dodge Challenger. The quarter-mile passes in 12.9 seconds at 111 mph, and the run to 60 takes only 4.5 seconds.

NOTICE TO BUYERS:
New Vehicle-Related Fee Beginning July 1, 2017

Beginning July 1, 2017, people who purchase vehicles in South Carolina will owe a new type of fee instead of paying a sales tax.

Due to legislation commonly referred to as the Roads Bill, if you buy or lease a vehicle, trailer, semi-trailer, or other automobile on and after July 1, 2017 that will be titled and/or registered in this state, you will owe an Infrastructure Maintenance Fee (IMF) instead of sales tax. The IMF is in addition to applicable title and registration fees and property taxes. You will not be able to title or register the item until you pay the IMF.

The amount of IMF you owe is based on the sale price of the item you buy. You will owe 5% of the purchase price, but it will be no more than $500. If you purchase an item that is $10,000 or less, your IMF will be 5% of the sale price. If it is $10,001 or more, you will owe $500.

SC residents, uou have 45 days to register your vehicle.

Transferring Registration to South Carolina

Beginning July 1, 2017, people who move to South Carolina with a vehicle, trailer, semi-trailer, or other automobile that needs to be registered in SC will owe a $250 Infrastructure Maintenance Fee (IMF), in addition to applicable title and registration fees and property taxes, per item that needs to be registered in this state.

For example, if you move to SC from Georgia with a vehicle that was previously registered in Georgia, when you register that vehicle with the SCDMV, you will owe the IMF, applicable title and registration fees, and property taxes. You pay your property taxes to your county treasurer. You must bring your original paid property tax receipt when you visit the SCDMV.

You have 45 days to register your vehicle.

Out-of-State Residents Purchasing Items in South Carolina

Beginning, July 1, 2017, people who buy a vehicle, trailer, semi-trailer, or other item in South Carolina that will be registered in another state will not owe an Infrastructure Maintenance Fee, but will pay a sales tax upon purchasing the item.

Under the changes in legislation, the sales tax has increased from 5% of the sale price, with a maximum of $300, to 5% of the sale price, with a maximum of $500.

Once the down payment has been received we will be happy to schedule an appointment for the pickup of your new item. Down payments are non refundable. The down payment is due PRIOR to pickup or within 24 hours, whichever comes firs, the downpayment is not to be made in person. If you fail to send the down payment prior to arrival we reserve the right to NOT sell the item to you. This is ebay, the prices are cheap, you do NOT get a retail experience because you are not paying retail price. Future Buyers: The above item is being sold "as-is" with no guarantees written or implied unless you are purchasing one of our new units which we will list in the description as having a warranty. Unless we state warranty there is NO warranty. We ask all ebayers to view, and have the above unit inspected by a mechanic of your choice at your expense prior to the winning bid. We try our best to describe our units in detail. Small items such as remotes, TV or key fob, floor mats, extra keys and cd cartridges may be missing, even though no stated as missing.

The Buyer is responsible for a $295.00 dealer service process fee if inside the US and $495 dealer service process fee for buyers outside the US (this helps to cover the costs and related expenses.). For scheduling a pickup please allow a MINIMUM of 48 hours after the auction ends to pick up your coach. The 295 fee, can also be called a document fee

MECHANICAL: We work on and repair most mechanical functions with our coaches. But, due to stringent State and Federal regulations, we are not set up to repair or maintain dash A/C units. Thus we do NOT guarantee that any dash A/C units work. ALL A/C components are "AS IS".. Most do work, but we will NOT be responsible for repairing of maintaining dash A/C components. Also, we do not guarantee the following (if installed) will operate: 1) satellite systems 2) security systems 3) non-factory add-ons 4) we cannot guarantee tire life or wear 5) cruise control 6) spare tires are optional and are NOT standard equipment.

ADVERTISING ERRORS: Please be aware that we are NOT PERFECT. We go to great lengths to make sure our ads are correct, BUT occasionally we do make a mistake. If you do not see it in the picture, then it probably is NOT an option on the vehicle. If you do not see floor mats, then the vehicle probably does not have them. If we do not mention a keyless entry, then we most likely do not have the keyless remote even though the vehicle might have had one when new. If you are unsure about an option, then please e-mail me and I will confirm if it has that option.

SHIPPING: All sales are "AS IS, WHERE IS" but we can gladly assist with shipping arrangements. Shipping is only available after the item is PAID IN FULL.

On all RVs especially older models there is almost always some delamation.

If you can not pay the final balance within 3 business days we will not sell the unit for the bid price.

If you do NOT pay the full amount within 3 days we reserve the right to NOT sell the item and keep the $500 deposit.

We do offer a $100 store credit AFTER the $295 eBay auction Fee is paid. In order to receive the $100 store credit, the entire balance must be paid within 48 hours of the end of the auction.

Full payment is due within 3 days period. KKRVS will NOT hand over my title until your funds have cleared my account, 15 business days. So, if you arrive to pickup your new item and you do NOT bring cash or do a bank wire transfer then I hold the title till your funds clear MY bank. If you want to leave with your title then bring cash or do a bank transfer which usually takes 2 - 3 hours. Please note SC does allow SC dealers 45 days to process the tag

Odometer Mile: Please be aware that FEDERAL LAW says that ALL motorhome sales of vehicles that are over 16,000 lbs are considered MILES EXEMPT. This means that the miles that read on the odometer are not guaranteed. This is NOT my rule or my method. I have nothing to do with this law. THIS IS FEDERAL LAW. What it does mean is that while the miles shown are NORMALLY correct, I do NOT guarantee it. How could I possibly know the complete history of a 10-15 year old vehicle that I have only owned for very short time? On vehicles 10 years old or older the titles can be labeled exempt for miles.
