1997 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Silverado Description

This is probably one of the cleanest short bed standard cab Silverado pickups left in existence. It has a little over 71,000 original miles and is a two owner truck. The truck was purchased new in Shafter, California and soon after retired to Sierra Vista, Arizona where the truck was purchased by my brother-in-law in 2014. My brother-in-law lives in Riverside, California. He purchased the truck to give to his son but, upon graduating, his son opted for a newer 4WD Chevrolet pickup that was offered to him. My brother-in-law kept the truck garaged and was planning on just keeping it as a truck he could just take to shows etc. but recently has decided to part with it and he asked me to help him sell the truck. He trailered the truck to my house in Tucson, Arizona and that is where the truck is currently, however, it is still registered in California to my brother-in-law. I have both the truck and the clear California title with past paperwork to show the truck passed California emissions. EXTERIOR:All original paint in excellent condition with no fade or clear coat burn. Ralley rims. Tires in good condition. All glass in perfect condition. All moldings and bumpers in excellent condition. Zero rust anywhere on the truck. The body is nearly perfect. I could only find two tiny dings in the truck and one small scratch in the paint. There are a couple of tiny paint chips that have been touched up. The dings are just under the passenger's door handle and just below the rear window on the driver's side. They are hard to notice and so small that they will not show up in pictures. The scratch is photographed and just under the Silverado emblem on the driver's side. The beauty ring on the passenger's front wheel has some minor scuffing and the remaining three are perfect. All lenses and lights are like new. The bedliner was put in when new and underneath the liner is in excellent condition. Factory exhaust tip was modified so it doesn't stick out the side and looks much cleaner than the factory set up.
INTERIOR:The interior of the truck is unmolested and like new. The seat shows no wear and is still firm like new. Original floor mats still in excellent condition. No sag in the headliner. Every light, switch and gauge works as it should. Windows roll up and down crisply and door locks work perfectly both manually and with the remote. Newer window tint keeps the interior cool and the AC blows COLD. The only issue with the interior is the folding center console/armrest is currently stuck in the up position and will not fold down. I'll be tinkering with this so this may be fixed and I will update the auction if I do find the problem and fix it. Never smoked in and no pets or kids in this truck.
MECHANICAL:The truck needs nothing mechanically. The 5.0 liter Vortec V8 fires right up and runs very strong. The transmission shifts as it should through the gears. The engine is unmolested and bone stock. It has a newer AC system within the past 2 years and it blows cold. Serpentine belt was replaced when the AC compressor was replaced. No leaks. Doesn't smoke. Tracks straight and stops perfectly with no shaking or shimmy. The truck was lowered 2 inches in the front and 4 in the rear using a Bell Tech lowering spindle and shackle system. The original equipment is available if desired. Runs and drives excellent.
In summary, this is a very hard to find, two owner, low mile, short bed, standard cab Silverado package pickup in excellent condition and mostly original. It is turn-key and ready to go. Rare to find one this clean. It will not disappoint. This truck has been babied and garage kept through it's life. If you are in the market for a truck of this vintage, you would be hard pressed to find a nicer one at this price. These trucks are great investments as they will only continue to climb in value and are one of the favorite body styles of Chevy enthusiasts.
