1975 Chevrolet El Camino / Runs / Great Project
1975 Chevrolet El Camino Description
I'm selling my 1975 El Camino that I bought on Ebay last month. I just have too many projects. Here is the description that was on Ebay: I'm selling my rusty but trusty '75 Elko. The odometer shows 6X,XXX miles but I doubt it is that low. Maybe 16X,XXX? Don't really know. It is a project car, but it is drivable. I've been using it for the last five years in this condition for local hauling, around once a month. It always starts. All the basics work, and it only has the basics anyway.
This has the 250 CID straight six, with a TH350 automatic. Options include power steering and the "Classic" package which meant two tone paint, a center armrest and woodgrain dash. And that's about it, options-wise.
Bad news first: As you can see it needs body work. It has rust holes in the fenders and a little perforation in the truck bed. The floorboards are also rusted through, though the previous owner patched up the driver's floor with sheet metal. Inside, the headliner and carpet are gone and the dash pad is crumbling. And the windshield is cracked.
The good news is the frame is straight and solid, with only light surface rust. (My guess is it was sitting outside for a looonng time and rusted from the top down, not from the bottom up.) It only has the one dent in the right rear fender. The side and back glass are fine. The the door panels and steering wheel are pretty good. The suspension, steering, air shocks, brakes all work fine (I've replaced the master cylinder and brake lines from the proportioning valve back). And, as I said above, it runs and drives.
