1961 Impala Convertible Barn Find. Very Rare Find!
1961 Chevrolet Impala Convertible Description
1961 Impala Convertible. This was a true barn find. Last registered in 1987 by the original owner. Purchased new in Ontario Canada and brought to Alberta a few years later. His wife didn't like the original white exterior so it was quickly resprayed red. Replacement 283 and 2 speed Powerglide transmission. 20/22" Coys C5 with Nitto performance Z rated tires. One piece California bumpers front and rear with OG front bumper guard. Brand new floors along with the inner rockers and braces replaced. New black carpet. All body mounts are solid. Front fenders by the headlights are soft with some bubbling. Rear lower quarters have some rust about 3/4" high from the bottom where it ties into the inner trunk drop offs. There is a dent mid body between the door and the wheel opening. Small rust spot on both lower R&L front fenders about 1" diameter. New brakes and hoses, new front and rear suspension (except bushings), new fuel tank and fuel pump, HEI and MSD plug wires, new exhaust, re-cored radiator with all new hoses and high flow aluminum water pump. Wiper motor does not work. Drop the power top and drive it!
