This 1951 Chevy Sports Coupe Deluxe is an All Original, Rust Free California Car.I have a clear California pink-slip in hand. This car is currently registered and insured, I drive it almost everyday. You don't find cars like this very often. Yes i have polished this car up a bit, i have done some mechanical repairs to make it driver, yes its an old car still...but i did not polish up a turd. If you know what you are looking for or you have bought old cars in the past that turned out to be junk, then now is your chance to get a good solid car. This car is running and driving, with all new brakes and many other mechanical maintenance and repairs to make it safe and drivable. Factory 235 6 cylinder engine with automatic power glide transmission. still a 6 volt system. A new water pump, belt, radiator, spark plugs and plug wires have recently been changed under the hood. All new brakes have been installed from the rubber hoses, wheel cylinders, shoes to the master cylinder. Rear end oil was changed. This car is and has been a daily cruiser, its an old car, it drips oil, it even smokes a little bit when you start her up, but she starts up and likes to drive around town and even on the freeway.
The paint on the body of this car is all original and has never been repainted or repaired. The roof was repainted very close to the original color recently. The driver door had a dent from opening too far, the dent was repaired but again - no paint or bondo work was done, we just popped out the dent the best we could, the stainless molding needs to be replaced. Both doors open and close better than a new car. The rest of the body on the car is in very good condition, there are some minor dents and dings. All the chrome and stainless on the car is also in good condition and nothing is missing. This car does have the extra bumper trim accessory "wing tips". When i originally got the car i cleaned the paint and used a floor polish sealer to give the car a satin shine and protection from the elements. This polish will wash off over time and can be re-apllied- it is not permanent. This car has a factory undercoat and has absolutely NO rust or rot. I have had this car on a rack and looked all over, i have pulled out the old original carpet from interior and trunk, this car has no rust. All running lights and brake lights work.
Interior is all original, dash is very nice and unmolested. The seats have the original covers on them under the blankets but they are well worn out. All the original door panels are in tact still and showing their age, the headliner is also original with some tears around the edges. Interior light and gauges all work. Door windows both roll up and down, driver door glass has a small crack, the glass in this car is original and has some scratches and haze to it, the rear 1/4 windows do slide open as well.
The car has been lowered 2 inches, using blocks in the rear and cutting 2 coils from the front. The ride was not affected in any way, just low enough to give the car the perfect stance. Brand New Firestone bias ply 6.70 White Wall Tires were recently installed, less than 200 miles on them. This car has the original 15" steel wheels with trim rings and factory caps, along with the spare in the trunk.
The car comes with a set of original skirts as well, they are not matching color to the body though.
