2001 2500HD Crew Cab Long Bed 4wd8.1L Vortec motor in good running condition***Awesome truck with an unfortunate story. Bought from Beaty Chevrolet in 03 as the second owner to this truck. All the maintance was done at Beaty for years. Discovered a crack in the transfer case and used a referral to a small mechanics shop as got a cheap price to rebuild transfer case. Ended up tracking my truck down at another shop several counties away. Went to pick up and take a look. at first glance it would appear to be ok, started up and went into drive just fine but did not feel right to me so I had it towed to beaty chevrolet at that point. The original allison transmission was taken and a different allison transmission installed. There is a different transfer case on it now. The original drive train was removed and is in the bed of the truck, but appears to be undamaged and was told it could go back on the truck. The computer was replaced but original one laying in the front seat. was told it looked like they were replacing all parts so vehicle could not be traced. Luckily got to it before anything else could happen.Hate to see it go as this truck is a true beast. They dont make them like that anymore, had to step up to a 3500hd to try to compare and still not as satisfied as I was with this truck for many years. Just dont have the time and never seem to set aside money to repair it so would rather see it go to someone else at this point.
